why would you do that? your litrally asking her to rear....
@johnjacobs4207 Жыл бұрын
You need to work on the principle of bend on the ground on the round corral at home. She is the habit of rearing because #1 she has a U neck and #2 was not taught the the principle of bend before you went out. #3 you are whipping and pulling back at the same tiime. When you want to stop use one rein and keep her bent until the feet stop.

Rearing is a real problem that needs addressing before someone gets seriously hurt. I don’t know the history of this horse but would ask, has it ever been raced?
@janmariablackwell81383 жыл бұрын
A racehorse wants to get its head out in front so it can gallop. You were preventing this by having control off the head and neck… well done and the horse was retaliating, possibly because it didn’t understand. I would certainly be avoiding these sorts of gallops until you are both rewarded with no more rearing. When you do feel the horses back tense, before it has time to rear, disengage its hind end by moving the hind quarters to the left or right.

well sat and still have such soft hands when you let her have her head. excellent rider xx

Horses can be naughty sometimes, you can gently bring the reins in and put weight in your heels to stop.
