I'm two years too late at 3:55 but those two need SPACE WIZZARDS AND CAMIEOS to make anything Star Wars. They forget that Star Wars the universe is a character itself and develops people to do things that we in reality shouldn't have to do and different cultures Ferrix is a much better planit than Tatoowein than what we know about. You don't always need flashy lights to make it interesting if YOU DO you still have the trained mindset as Star Wars did to sell you more stuff and that's what Disney wants from you. There’s a real demented channel called The Sci Fi Center. It’s also a comic book shop in Las Vegas. He swears up and down that “Batman was never meant for kids” because he killed. I’d love to see you debate him. Total Snyder cult member.

The only thing that makes me disagree his him getting the public addicted to shimmer as a means of control. Shimmer was so damn powerful that if he had really wanted zauns freedom more than anything he could have achieved it with an army of chem tanks but I think he wanted his power more.

In my opinion, Andor (and Rogue One) is THE best installment/story to hit the screen in the SW universe. The characters are painstakingly fleshed out, the production level and sfx are top notch, the acting is INCREDIBLE, and the story is unbelievably well written and well thought out. Does it have a bit of a slow pace at times? Yes. That's what the best stories are SUPPOSED to have - variable pace that is as much a part of the telling of the story as the characters in it. Shawshank, Blade Runner (and especially 2049), Interstellar, The Usual Suspects, Arrival... these are all stories that took their time to introduce the characters and let you get to know them; relate to them. They let the story DEVELOPE! The quick, hand your brain at the door, give me the plot at the beginning type of work...yes, that is ONE way to tell a story. But THE best films/shows I've ever watched and attached to? They happen to be the ones that take more than 5 minutes to figure out. If you just gave the audience the funeral procession and Maarva's speech without all the context that came before, it would just be another riot scene. But, because of the way they built so much time into leading to that scene, all the closeups they gave at the faces in the crowd while Maarva was giving her INCREDIBLE speech...those shots had context and meaning to the viewer, it made us empathize and relate to what those characters MIGHT have been thinking/feeling (without any of them ever saying a word). THAT'S great f'n writing right there. I'm so glad the series and its writers took their time because (and I say this as a 30+ year lover of most things SW) it pulled me into the story more deeply than any other installment ever has. Fingers crossed, but I can't wait for season 2 to drop.

I want to see more escape scenes that would be considered impossible. The WTF moments where a rebel takes on the Empire against all odds and succeeds. This is great story telling, and really adds value. We know that Palpatine and the storm troopers and the ISB were paranoid for valid reasons; rebel incursions happened often enough to cause the empire to change their tactics because of great losses. Yet, most of these incursions have not been well documented or ever shown on screen and lack story development. We need to see why the empire acted the way that they day, and see them continuously get owned by the rebels is amusing and entertaining.

I'm going through this video, and I do disagree on the "DCEU having better music" bit. The Phase 1 MCU films feature some truly stunning soundtracks in the Iron Man, Thor and Captain America: First Avenger scores, all of which rival Hans Zimmer's score for Man of Steel.

I had a friend talk a lot about how Star Wars needed better writing and to step out of its comfort zone, so I told him to watch Andor. Next time I talked to him, he said he couldn’t get invested because he knew how Andor died. The fandom will get what we ask for, ignore it, and then complain when we getting boring, predictable slop.

I have this idea of "sacrifice of one's own morality". The gist is traditional hero willing to sacrifice even their own life is definitely making one of highest sacrifices, but is there a sacrifice even grander than that? What does a dead hero still possesess which could still be sacrificed? Only three possibilities - reputation of being a self-sacrificing hero, dying with certainty of those we hold close being safe, and lastly our own self-image and self-percetion. To lose the ability to call ourselves good people. To give up our own goodness. Of course such an idea can be oh so easily misused to hide weakness and personal failing as it requires strictest adherence to our values which should be altruistic in nature, it's simply very difficult to pull off, but hey, that's the benefit of fiction. We can make the impossible into reality.

Not gonna defend GOT season 8, but I don't think it was out-of-character for Daenerys to change like that. The saying goes "Every time a Targaryen is born, the gods flip a coin." Throughout the series she tried hard to project an image of being kind & just, trying not only to convince others, but also herself. But there were hints of her Dark Targaryen nature peaking through (e.g. crucifying people who had nothing to do with those children being crucified). It just finally fully surfaced at the end. (I know, I know, nothing before the "but" ever really counts.)
@klopek007Ай бұрын
@solarydays There were hints all along. Starting in season one, when she burned a woman alive for the crime of killing a rapist warlord.

There is an argument that Andor and Rogue One are some of the best Star Wars content ever, even considered better than Empire in some circles. Tony Gilroy provided support to both (Disney should take note) who provided great direction on story and character development. What Empire, Rogue One and Andor have in common are how the characters are really fleshed out and believable. Empire is a non-stoppable force that won't stop to squeeze out every hint of insurrection, much like Nazi Germany did. Not everything is fully explained. I don't need to know how the force works, it just happens. There are complete plot points that happen off-screen in Andor that are discussed but not shown. They let the audience figure things out and leave some things as vague and a mystery. They also explain the flaw more deeply, that the Empire is so proud of itself, it doesn't think anything about an insurrection which they exploit during Rogue One and New Hope.

I cringed haard on some of those reviews on Andor. To me, it seems like some people only care about lightsaber fights and action scenes rather than good quality writing and storytelling. And best of luck to those people. To me, Andor is even better than the OT and I don't say that lightly.

Andor is a show that literally no one asked for and a story that didn’t need to be told. I had zero expectations for Andor but I watched it anyway. To my utter surprise, I can confidently say that Andor is the best Star Wars content since ESB. I’m still not sure how a show this good got produced under the current Disney management. This is analogous to an art production studio putting stick figures on a canvas and selling them as art (Mando S3, Obi Wan, Ashoka, Acolyte) then, in the midst of the stick figures, giving me the Mona Lisa (Andor) how in the hell did this even happen?🤔

I've developed an allergy to Star Wars. It's just that Andor... Andor is much more than good Star Wars, it's one of the best series for 2022 (and 2023+2024). Wait, "one of the best?". Well... I haven't seen anything better, so best. Andor is so good that when Acolyte then hit, it triggered full-blown cognitive dissonance in me while trying to hate Star Wars and love Andor.
