I have two racks of bowling pins you can NEVER throw in the fire. Early, Mid-1970s? Magnesium-covered bowling pins. There was a tree shortage, and they experimented with magnesium as a long-term replacement. Magna-pins. My dad got them from an old bowling alley in California, and now I have had them since 2008.

@@zyloproductions4870 I've played Candlepin before, but not the others. I would like to try duckpin soon
@zyloproductions48703 сағат бұрын
@@PinDominatorThat would be a cool video! If you ever visit New England, both Candlepin and Duckpin are around those areas. It would be a cool opportunity because you haven’t played with the pin setters before. There’s the Candlepin Bowl-Mor Model E, and the Duckpin Sherman Automatic. Some versions of the Candlepin pinsetter aren’t triggered automatically. You trigger them to reset by pressing a button.

Hey hey, I know this is a lil late, but I would be interested-very interested-in trying the CandlePin setup. I’m from Mass, live in Boulder, and can only play once a year. It would be great to be able to play more than that. Was told to hit up Fnafmangofox, Am I too late?😢

I went to one of my few remaining local centers for the first time yesterday and turns out last September, they replaced all of their 60 A-2 pinsetters with brand-new GS NXTs! Plus Sync scoring to go with it. It’s called Parkway Bowl in El Cajon, CA.

I have question. Were this pins made for a tournament (as a golden Brunswick pba and twister’s Reno pins)? I can’t find any video of the tournament with this pins, so I’m really interested about history of this pins. Thanks in advanced. Btw really cool video thanks for great content.
@PinDominator4 күн бұрын
I'm not 100% sure, but these were the pins the PBA bowled on during the preliminaries before the finals. If you search up videos of the 2020 US Open at Sun Valley Lanes, you should be able to see them. There might be a video on Packy's YT

I has a question. Do modern bowling machines have sensors and older models don't?
@PinDominator5 күн бұрын
@BubberDuckieMain depends on the center and the machines. Most centers use inferred sensors. Although, the Brunswick A series pinsetters were designed to engage mechanically. (Without the need of a sensor)

I was right to chide you about practicing lofting your ball. A couple of days ago in my Thursday night league during the transition I was forced into doing my Mark Roth imitation by lofting my ball to clear the dry heads and delay the hook. That strategy worked and I was able to keep crushing the pocket for a 244. Lofting gives you a lot more revs and it seems like it would be self-defeating to increase revs on a drying-out pattern but if you move left a couple of boards you’ll probably tickle the oil and your ball will go apey when it hits the break. If you like monster wall action you’ll love the shot.
@PinDominator6 күн бұрын
@@douglasskaalrud6865 dude, there is literally no oil on these lanes, I would have to loft that ball 35-40 ft just to achieve the right entry angle 😂 But yes, lofting is great if the oil is burnt!
