Bowling at South Point Casino (Las Vegas, NV)

Hey KZbin, I'm out in Vegas for the 2024 USBC Open tournament! This year I will showcase a few centers in the Las Vegas area! Stay tuned for more! :)
Nice bowling alley located in South Point Casino in Las Vegas, NV. Lanes are really well maintained, rates are reasonable, approaches are clean! I had a good time! Check it out!

I learned to bowl at Ken’s 18 lanes in Crystal, Minnesota. It was a split house like this one only with ten lanes on one side and eight on the other. It was an all-AMF house with orange and white accents. I made the Junior Traveling Team and our league had twelve stops around the Twin Cities. It’s a different sensation going from the nice confines of your small house to bowling in these gigantic places with 48 lanes. There’s no familiarity. Took me years to get over that. There were two houses that were built on the cheap and expanded 8 lanes at a time. They left the concrete walls up so it was like bowling in a little 8-lane room. Because they were built on the cheap they bought used machines and each room had a different kind. It was a good way to get experience with different patterns.

I have yet to bowl at South Point. I have always dreamed about doing that. I have never bowled in Vegas. I have bowled in Laughlin.

I was just there! Wish I could have seen you! Dang it!😂 Did you also know that South Point was built in 2005? I was on lanes 51 and 17 and my high was a 227 but one thing I learned was don’t use symmetric balls and to use Asm balls on these lanes.

@MCLife30015 I did not know that! Very cool!! I've learned to use assym cuz the symmetrical struggled soo badly! The Axiom Pearl was working towards the end with the breakdown!

While you’re in Nevada, do you think you can visit Laughlin? They have two bowling centers there that are popular. They are Riverside lanes and the bowl center inside the Laughlin River Lodge.

I've bowled at Riverside, it's decent, but not as nice as South Point. That first area he showed was the bowling "stadium" that they built more recently, along with that giant equestrian arena, which now hosts rodeos and other events. The bowling stadium is specifically for large tournaments and they host a TON of them there. Really cool place overall.

Why is the gs 96 so unpopular? I mean the A2 is older but is still running in so many alleys. So why the 96?

@@THEBESTBROWS I could be completely wrong, but my guess is because the GS-96 is outdated with the release of the GS-X and GS-NXT. These two pinsetters operate differently compared to the 96s meaning they utilize different parts which are scarce. I would say the A-2s are in the same predicament, except that there are many A-2 centers closing compared to GS-96 centers. In other words, A-2 centers can obtain parts from closing A-2 centers. That's just my humble guess. Lol
