Next week, for those that can plan ahead and aren't caught out by charcoal taking 30 minutes to burn, why paying £2.50 for a Cobb stone isn't always better than £0.40 for charcoal.

I have made a more user friendly rotisserie that fits the Cobb BBQ. It is quicker and easier to use and has made the spit and prongs for home BBQ’s out of date. This device will accept a medium size chicken for the Cobb.

Question -Is it possible ,or feasible to have both a gas Cobb and a charcoal Cobb? Just have an interchangeable bottom half?

Yep, this won't cut it most of the time! What I do is run warm water over the steel parts to clean (eg the moat or the inside of the lid) and squeeze Jif over the metal surface. Then I use my dedicated dish brush to quickly and easily scrub the surface with very little effort. Then simply rinse off with more warm water. No vigorous elbow grease required! Obviously you can't use an abrasive cleaner on the non-stick grill plate so prevention is best applied here! I get one of those black bbq heat mats and cut it into a circle of 17.5cm diameter so that it doesn't cover the airholes on the grill plate. I use this when cooking roasts on the roasting rack as the majority of the baked on drip lands on the little mat. Very easy to run that under water and get the gunk off.

If you cook a whole chicken you need a scraper and wire wool to scrub the black off of all the stainless steel. But the chicken is delicious. The foil helps keep the moat clean.

Well I usually have to do the moat 2 times in the dishwasher and hand scrub.

Neat video, but useless-how many Cobblestone(s) would a typical 5 lb. bird take to cook? What length of time would a typical 5 lb. bird take to cook? I love my Cobb, but am profoundly disappointed by the total lack of basic information-2 weeks since I got the "pre-order" notification yet STILL no follow up on VERY BASIC info!?!?!?!
