Another great vlog 😊 What a lovely idea getting wedding rings made, a very romantic souvenir 💕 We stayed in Osaka for 7 nights and had a wonderful time visiting Kyoto, Nara and Kobe. Looking forward to seeing what you get up to at your next stop Kyoto. Watching your vlogs is making me miss Japan so much and would love to go back but not sure it’s going to happen anytime soon 😢

How far was the hotel from Central Kyoto or other places for sightseeing?
@TangledUpInFun4 күн бұрын
The hotel was in the centre of Kyoto. The area we visited in the vlog was a 20 min bus ride away or a 45 min walk. Most of the other sightseeing places you can get to via train direct from Kyoto station.

Ohhhh! Kyoto! What a stunning area! The traditional buildings and all the ladies in kimonos. How very cool! At one point, as you were sranding on a corner, I half expected Totoro to be standing next to you. 😁 And another Starbucks mug for the collection! Yay!

I think getting rings on a trip is a great souvenir. How special! Ant! Don't lose it. 😉 The Snorlax suitcase is AWESOME!! Another fun souvenir, even if it's a necessity. We have one we call our "Primark case" from London and after 20 years, we fjnally had to retire our "Copenhagen Case". Good memories! And Tala's Snoopy jumper! I love the photo you sent to me of her in that. It's darling!!! ❤

The Tori-no-ichi festival held every November at Hanazono Shrine in Shinjuku is also known as the Otorisai Festival and is known for attracting many worshippers. As the city of Shinjuku developed, the festival grew in scale, and is now counted as one of the three biggest festivals in the Kanto region, along with the festivals at Otori Shrine in Asakusa and Okunitama Shrine in Fuchu. The first festival held on the first day of the rooster in November is called Ichi-no-tori, the second is called Ni-no-tori, and in some years it is held three times (San-no-tori). On the day of the festival, lanterns are hung around the shrine, including the torii gate, and street vendors selling rakes line the streets. As it is close to Shinjuku Kabukicho, the area around the shrine becomes even more festive as people who work in the area visit the festival all at once. The shrine is bustling with young people dressed up beautifully and people praying for prosperity in business for the coming year. During the festival, many food and drink stalls line the roads around the shrine, so you can enjoy eating your way around the shrine in a festival-like atmosphere. Scaffolding is erected for this purpose. Thank you very much for coming to Japan. We look forward to working with you again.

this is how I went there in a day. Up early at 4am. Checked Mt Fuji weather and it looked very promising. Breakfast of bakery snacks in my room. 04:59 Tokyo station (Marunouchi North Exit) - 06:10 Takao station (JR Chuo Rapid) 06:30 Takao station - 07:06 Otsuki station (JR Chuo Main) 07:24 Otsuki station - 08:05 Shimoyoshida Station (Fujikyuko Line) Brilliant hike through Arakura Sengen Park up to Arakurayama Summit. Even though I was there very early, there were still a bunch of loud tourists. Not sure where they cam from as they didn't take the train. Lunch at a small mom and pop place.

That's amazing!! What an experience! As someone who lives with a large mountain, myself, we don't take for granted when "the mountain's out", as we say here in Seattle. It's a spectacular day when we can see both Rainier to the south, Baker to the north, the Cacade range to the east and the Olympic range to the west. We're spoiled for views, but only when it isn't raining, so you take it when you can get it and hold that natural beauty close to your heart. I'd been tearing up, too. And what a meal! 🤯
@TangledUpInFunАй бұрын

Good video, thx guys. Btw how far in advance did you book your hotel? I am going in 5 months but don't want to book too early or too late. Oh and is shinjuku station very busy? I want to stay in this hotel but the crowds in shinjuku station scare me. Were you guys able to get on trains in shinjuku station just fine?
@TangledUpInFunАй бұрын
Thanks so much! We booked our hotel through a travel agent about 6-8 months in advance so now might be a good time if you’re booking for 5 months ahead. As for Shinjuku Station, it’s definitely busy (especially during rush hour), but we didn’t have any issues getting on trains, even with the crowds as everyone queues up-just allow yourself a extra time to find where you need to go and you’ll be fine. We found that most of the trains we needed we had to go to the second station building across the big road rather than the first building you come to when you’re walking over. Have an amazing trip!
@inevitable-armageddonАй бұрын
@TangledUpInFun ahh that's very good to hear. I already booked my hotels now. Staying in this hotel for eight days. Thx for the reply good to know that I can still catch a train even if it is busy
