Remembered it and rewatched it today. For the first time in over ~15 years (I adored Charlize Theron here when i was like in 3rd-4th grade or smth xD, so memories of her character were engraved in my brain). It's sad to hear that a director's cut might exist which could solve the main problems of the movie: rushed montage with intent to shorten the film, thus ruining all action in the movie, ruining the pace and kind of making the plot feel raw at the end. Well, maybe one day...

A dialogue of Ash and Delia's reunion would have been more like a similarity to the SonAmy scene from that episode of Sonic X 'A New Start': Tracey: Talk about cutting it close. Ash: Eh, not really. Tracey: (to Ash) Come on, bro, tell me you weren't afraid. If we didn't rescue you from drowning, you wouldn't have had a chance. Ash: Well, maybe you're right. Thanks, Tracey. (Tracey shows a confused expression) Ash: You too, Misty and Melody. (Misty and Melody give guffaw) Delia: (off-screen) Ash! Tracey: Hey, Ash; isn't that your mother? Ash: What? (Ash turns to notice Delia standing before him and gasping for breath as Ash greets her with a smile) Ash: Hey. Delia: (sternly) Alright, start talking! Ash: (nervous) Huh? Delia: (scolding) You are in big trouble, mister! Ash: (shocked) What?! Misty: (interrupting) Please, Mrs. Ketchum. Sorry, but I beg of you to reconsider; Ash just helped save the world. Delia: Is that so? Well, I wondered if you would ever visit more often. (tearfully) It frightened me to think that I would never see your bright shining face again. Every day, I worry about you and wonder if you're safe. But you never called. I didn't know where you were, I couldn't stand not knowing. I told myself I should give up hoping. I was convinced that you had forgotten about your dear mother. I thought you were gone forever. I know I can't stop you from doing the things you must, because you're a Pokémon trainer. But I just can't help missing you all the time, and a spirit told me that I must be strong. Even if it takes my life to see you again. Now you're here. (Delia breaks into tears of joy) Delia: I'm so glad you're safe, Ash, it's such a wonderful moment! I don't think I've ever been this happy and proud as I am right now! (Delia sobs) Delia: Don't you ever save the world far from home again, Ash Ketchum. (Scene fades to Ash showing his mother a flower and with a wink of promise.) Ash: Don't you worry, Mom. I promise to save the world closer to home next time. (Delia still tears up and joyfully hugs her son while sobbing with happiness)

Mew is breaking up next year... (2025) Who's going to their last 2 shows in Denmark? I dunno if I can make it, I live in Canada.
@NotOrdinaryInGames3 ай бұрын
I only saw them once, and I guess will never again? Sometimes you just don't get to see your favourites live...... ever. It happens. And I got to see them once, which is more than none. Also first time hearing about this. Checked, it's real. I am not really sad, I mean, with age comes wisdom, and I am over 9,000 years old (well not really, but maybe spiritually). There is no no real law that states bands must stay together forever until their members start dying. Not everyone can be Deep Purple, those are true dinosaurs and the band had a life span of one of those California trees the names of which I forgot. One of my faovurites are Dream Disciples, and they were only around for a decade. And almost no weak material, maybe ONE song that is kind of unoriginal. Sometimes bands are around for even less, like 2-3 years. Some bands only make 1 album. In other words, it's fine to call it quits, musically. What hurts me MORE, is that you posted on this upload of mine. And reminded me of an age when automatic upload bots did not exist, and users had to upload the more rare music THEMSELVES. I used to upload a lot, and not anymore. That is why, auto-upload bots killed the fun of YT uploading for me.

@@NotOrdinaryInGames I'm just glad your video is still up, once I posted an unlisted lipdub on Vimeo, and it somehow got reported, and my ENTIRE account got deleted. I was so sad, and pissed. BTW do you know any other super rare Mew songs? I wish there was a version of "Panda" without the weird dissonant bridge in the middle. Also, I think Mew went their whole career with not playing in Canada ONCE... I've never seen them come to a nearby city at least.
@NotOrdinaryInGames3 ай бұрын
@@Kalibur91 I know a bunch of them, but I don't HAVE them all. The last "rare" song was Daddy Drone, and as I found out it it's not included on any CD, or DVD. Getting it uncompressed meaning buying from Qobuz, a french digital music store that is like Bandcamp but not for indies only. All but 1 of Kites b-sides were released on CD eventually, and i have all but 1 Frengers b-sides (including acoustic She Came Home exclusive to a japanese single). Any b-side from their first 2 albums....... I would rather wait for the inevitable 2CD reissues, I have reasons to believe those will happen. The worst part of collecting b-sides from the early 2000s is knowing to get them from the country the band is from, since overseas releases would 9 times out of 10 use copies of master tapes for digitization, meaning...... some loss of clarity. I was satisfied with Wherever and Tsin Tsi from the japanese Frengers, but then by comparing singles with the album my ears told me the industry's dirty secret. Turns out the second song was released on Frengers sampler, which had 3 versions in Europe (meaning it's not too rare and not too expensive). In other words, good hunting! Make sure to use Discogs for all your musical needs when other places fail you.

I can't find the exact quote right now, but I recall Marlon Brando saying something like: "Anyone that believes that Hollywood is about art is deluding themselves". ... I guess, as much as I'd like to see it, I am not expecting that the Aeon Flux director's cut will ever see the light of day. Releasing it would put a lot of egg on the faces of those that cut it to pieces.

But what I want to know is can the holes csuse disc rot? If there is a hole in the metallic layer and protectove layer, wouldnt that cause air to be able to get in? I've been super paranoid about that.
@NotOrdinaryInGames4 ай бұрын
A good way to tell is time. If you had a tiny hole for more than a decade, and it's the same size now, it's not rot, since any rot is a continuing degenerative process. In most cases when there is no problem, the metallic hole that came from imperfect pressing, is covered up with the protective lacquer (so nothing can get in).

This film deserved better. It did not kill fox emanation studios, fox did and I will never forgive them for that. Now that Disney has fox, I would really love to see a sequel to this movie. I want to see so much more of this universe. It's literally like star wars star trek mass effect.You name it that critic was right.This was definitely the movie we were waiting for.
@NotOrdinaryInGames5 ай бұрын
There cannot really be a sequel, when you think about it. Might as well do an original sci-fi film. You cannot reverse time to give this movie more box office money. But you CAN give it a good Bluray release. What you can easily do, is put back the cut sequence with the green drink. It is already voiced, and fully animated. Just add the finished space background to the ship's window. Add the existing OST on top, and you're good. That scene was originally created to foreshadow Cale's ability to fix technology even more, and the movie would be maybe 5% better with it. I hope that deleted scene is available in 1080p, cause the movie was rendered at 1080p, and eventually broadcast (people ripped it).

@@NotOrdinaryInGames It doesn't have to be as good as the original and I would rather have a knot, because I'd rather have it be its own thing or else. It's just stuck in the past.
