NORMAN! Hey, I just got the latest email from the company I was telling you about before, Karas Kustoms. They have their bolt action pen on sale. They are blowing them out at forty bucks! KarasKustoms dot you know what, and search for Modal. I can’t link to it or think YT will delete the comment. It’s a SMOKING deal. And you can do pay in four with PP and I think shop pay too. All colors available as of this comment, but they are going to go quick though. I hope you get this before they are sold out. God bless brother!

I appreciate the realness and authenticity of all of your videos. The topics you discuss and the unscripted style of videos are a breath of fresh air to see. I am definitely an introvert myself. I agree with you fully on the fact that KZbin is an amazing space for us introverts to share our passions. Keep up the fantastic videos, Norman! All the best, Collin

The first thing to go on that bag is the interior. I've had a few cheap messenger bags and inevitably that rayon crap on the inside always tears. Your best bet is just go to a goodwill or thrift store and pick up a 20 year old laptop messenger bag. A lot of them are built like tanks. I have one from the 90s that I've abused that looks exactly the same as when i got it.

I bought the R50 to replace my old Nikon D3300 for Photography & a Sony AX53 Camcorder for video. The R50 replaces both of them & does the job nicely. Much better video quality than the camcorder. I bought the 10-18mm lens for it as I do handheld vlogs & at 18mm it's too tight in on my head whereas I wanted a wider lens to include outdoor background scenery too. For me it's the perfect vlogging camera & takes way better photos than my old D3300. Hope you're having a great weekend Norman , kind regards, Tony

I do mine similarly Norman. I write down my meals as well. No trackers of any kind. The only thing artsy I d is next to the day I draw a simple sun, cloud, raining cloud symbol etc for the weather each day but that's about as fancy as I get.

8:00 I also picked up their Pocket Modal bolt action pen in Matte Olive. Give it a look. It looks like it’s the same size. It takes the same refill anyway. It has replaced the Space Pen Bullet in my pocket. And they take PayPal…. Pay in four? 👍🏼

NORMAN! So I made an impulse buy the other day. I bought a limited run, Karas Kustoms, (Karas Pen Co.) “Ink” V2 in Robins Egg Blue Cerakote. 😮 It is a FANTASTIC pen! They found some hiding in a box and were blowing them out at almost 50% off. I was originally grabbing it for the wife. But she isn’t digging it. Nice notebooks BTW. I went with the Poromo over the September leather myself. I wasn’t big on the hard spine. Thanks for sharing! God Bless!!

A simple flush with water is good enough and a few drops won't impact the ink whatsoever. Fountain pen ink is like 99% water so you're good to go.

I find it so difficult to get into a habit of journaling. I also have started and stopped, just to start a new notebook. I am always happy for anyone who can keep it up and actually fill notebooks. But I think what you are saying rings true because I know when I am overwhelmed or stressed, one of the few things that gets me through is writing it down. It really helps you work out the stress.
@JosephDicksonАй бұрын
I tend to buy affordable softcover A5 notebooks, around 100 sheets, some as little as 40, and slip that into a basic folio cover to protect from damage. This helps me keep it nearby or in my backpack and makes it easier to use almost daily. Don't be afraid of starting a new one if the old one creates some friction and you need to set it aside.

My favorite is the metropolitan too I have tried almost every beginner's fountain pen I got the diplomat Magnum last week... And you are right the pen skips with the cartridge ink... But I have noticed that different inks have different results with pens the diplomat Magnum has a cool nib kinda bouncy so I am not going to give up on it I will ink it up with a wet pilot bottle ink I just got a converter for it I think it will write like a charm... Generally I have noticed that out of the box pens sometimes need cleaning and ink flow for a while Sometimes the free cartridge that comes in the box is bad quality ink and that's the issue... Sometimes there is a bit of oil in the feed from manufacturing... But I encourage you to go for a converter and bottled ink it looks more expensive but it's the same in the long-term or even more economic... Bottle ink can make a budget pen write and feel like a very expensive one I would recommend pilot bottle ink it's a worthy investment...

That Hong Dian Black Forest you have, is one of my favourites. There's a little metal pocket version as well, the M2, which I really love. That one's my EDC. My other favourites are the Pilot Metropolitan (mine came with the con 40 covnverter) and the TWSBI Eco.

If you want a pen that just works and all you want is a pen that will work out of the box. Anything by Pilot, Platinum, or Lamy is the way to go. The Pilot Kakuno and Metropolitan are good starter pens. The Platinum Preppy and Prefonte are good. The Lamy Safari is good. The Kaweco Sports are great pocket pens. If you like piston fillers, the TWSBI Swipe and Eco are both under $35 that are absolutely awesome!! Cartridges are expensive if you add up the amount of ink you get for your money. Bottled ink is the way to go. You can use a blunt needle syringe to refill your cartridges with bottled ink. Noodler’s ink is very cost effective. On average $15 for 3 ounces of ink. Be careful, Noodler’s fill their bottles all the way to the top. If you like black ink. Noodlers sells their Heart of Darkness for about $20 - $22 for 4.5 ounces of ink and you get a free eye dropper “Charlie” pen with the ink. That ink (HoD) is waterproof and archival quality.

Rediscovering daily writing has been such a massive help to me for learning stuff, thinking, and just finding pleasure in a reliable pen that makes me want to write. I’ve the Safari, the Hongdian and the Kaweco. Another pen that’s cheap and OMG good is the Platinum Preppy… better than some £100+ pens I’ve used (it’s £4). [When screwing the Kaweco lid back on, I’ve found that if I counter-rotate both pieces first before engaging the thread, I can gently bring it to closed position in one turn. Just a cool trick down the line, I’d had mine a few years before I tried it] I think it’s the best hobby there is: I work in IT but for my brain to engage its pen & paper all the way! Happily subscribed

Grab yourself a blunt-tip syringe to refill your cartridges...and may I suggest deAtrementis Document Black or Noodlers Black as great choices for waterproof inks. I was gifted blue and black Zebra fountain pens out here on the road by a kind gentleman who took pity on me when I noticed his usage of a fountain pen. I explained to him the crazy grail pens I had on my truck were nothing more than exquisite paperweights with my inks and other accessories at the house (this was not a solicitation, mind you...just a chance encounter with another 'penhead'). Without hesitation, he passed me two Zebras. I've since alleviated my ink/accessories situation; but when i get back up to that distribution center, I'm gifting that man my TWSBI Vac Mini and a bottle of Pilot Iroshizuku Kon Peki. Those Zebra pens not only wrote surprisingly well, but they once again sparked my interest in this wonderful hobby. You'll no doubt love the TWSBI Eco...but, I'd contend, other than some decent paper (which you may or may not already have), you have everything you need. You are sufficiently inspired to write and create with your current arsenal. That being stated, I think you SHOULD get the Eco because TWSBI makes great stuff, and you are certain to be satisfied with the purchase. As long as the acquisition is secondary to its usage, that pen will serve you well for years. Looking forward to more content...cheers!
