If I were a bandleader, there would ONLY be calypsoes and steel bands, and perhaps a brass band. My savannah tunes would be "Jane, Nani Wine, and Wet me Down."

This performance was pure revenge for the 4th place performance in 1987. They just devoured this piece of music. And they have did it at international competition. All Stars you are great

Unfortunately, those signs and speeches are NOT going to solve the problems that blacks are facing in America. Because at the end of the day, they will all be forgotten. Perhaps, the time has come to study the strategies used by the conquerors of centuries gone by.

What beautiful memories of my entire family playing in All Stars from small children. Wow. Seeing my brother by the pan yard in this video who played with All Stars under recently deceased Neville Jules leadership and is now elderly himself and is unable to play makes me sad. I saw my sister who goes down to play with All Stars every year doing her thing. I remembered playing with my mom in the sailor band for the first at age 12 and it made me teary eyed . Thank you for the clarity of your video. God bless all. 🙏😊

This video shows how racially divided Trinidad is. At carnival time every race is out there gyrating the place down, yet on Emancipation Day only black people are in sight. Where are the rest of the Trinidadians? When there are Indian and other festivals everyone comes out. Why are there so much colourism and racism in Trinidad? If the emancipation of slaves did not take place, Trinidad would not be the multiracial country it is today. I thank God that although I had parents from different races that I do not have this problem.

It is unfortunate that the the organizers of this did not plan this part of the parade properly. Very disorganized. There should have been stage directors and marshals moving the bands along quickly. Very poor presentation in this area. It would have been so nice if they had people moving along with no gaps. They should have had police helping with the crowd around the stage area. Security is very poor considering the Prime Minister and other dignitaries were there.

Great to find a KZbin video about Trinidad carnival that actually shows a live steelband playing. Most of them are DJ trucks. The live steelbands and live brass bands were a huge part of the cultural experience a few years back.

Maybe if we were to band together like other races, work hard together, open businesses together and not pull down each other as we do, we would be successful like some of the other groups who know how to work hard together, help and respect each other. Notice who is the majority here, women, the matriach of our society who seem to have been the ones responsible for raising many of our families. I will say no more.
