1990, working with about 20 lads from Manchester in that London. TV in the hotel rooms had MTV. Every morning - just about when we were getting ready for the off - this would come on 🙂

This struck a deep cord. For the awkwardly shy introvert, this denizen of chaos and confusion without a friend that Tilda portrays in this short film, the intense isolation and horribly silent invisibility becomes her in the bustling, crowded city street and mass transit. It then culminates in the most severe depression. You see it most in the scene where she desperately attempts to speak to her love paramour but the mouthed utterance "I love you" is trapped, unable to be spoken. The longing for an escape into the natural world of living things is shown in the scene where she crouches to admire a lone crawling vine, turning to reveal a fleeting smile. Over time, you do sort of just fade away inside and disappear in the eyes of society. I have felt that way often before.
