Like Doctor Who the monsters were "usually" goofy looking. The special effects were often very obvious and glitchy. However again like Dr Who the stories were fantastic and still hold up well.

I LOVE "Gramma"!!!! And it's never mentioned by Anyone, certainly not in a top episodes list. The original short story in "Night Shift" is creeeeppyy - one of the few stories that actually freaks me out (the short story "1408" is another). I'm so glad to see it on your list. Though I agree about the narration. Sometimes, it's just painful😆😆...

In the 50s and into the 60s there was a battle for viewers between TV and the cinema. There were a number of TV shows about people finding themselves living a lie for a movie, and a number of movies about the dangers of TV; 'The Twonky' is the one I recall. The opening 'The Outer Limits' episode is about a radio ham who discovers a way to resolve a radio signal in three dimensions inside a box in his lab ( TV ), and up pops the alien, who's existence threatens us all. Quite the opposite of the message usually on TV; perhaps it was originally a movie script? I mean most of the directors on TOL' also made movies Byron Haskin, for example.

I know I said ''If you have MAX'' in the video, but please, DO NOT WATCH SCAVENGERS REIGN ON MAX! It's since moved to NETFLIX, so for the love of animated sci-fi, please watch it there! Scavengers Reign can only get the second season it so richly deserves if we make it a hit on Netflix.

"A Message from Charity" is a beautiful love story; the only flaw I can find in it is Charity's very 1980s hair, which a Puritan bonnet can't disguise. I've always had a preference for the more poignant Twilight Zone episodes over the more disturbing and cynical ones (hence my fondness for the original series' "Walking Distance," "Changing of the Guard," and "The Trade-Ins"), so I'm glad to see the recognition for both "Charity" and "Paladin of the Lost Hour."

I can't remember if it was a Tales From The Darkside episode or the Outer Limits remake, but I always remember this one episode about a man who sleeps with lots of women who was cursed to be an immortal black cat when he slept with a wizard's wife. He takes up with a virginal woman who reads lots of romance novels and at first she thinks he's going to be her One True Love, until he starts sleeping with her pretty neighbor and he laughs at her for thinking he could love anyone. So she drugs his drink and when he wakes up in cat form the next morning he's locked in a carrier and is at the vet to get neutered.

Yellow was filmed for a spin off called Two Fisted Tales but that show never aired so it was placed into Tales From The Crypt. That’s why it wasn’t horror.

I was totally messed up as a kid by the episode "Curse of the Casavins". The sexual violence in that was freaky and scary and probably made me insane in some way LOL. my parents worked nights and so I saw all kinds of TV alone as a child I probably shouldn't have !

Next to the Twilight Zone, Tales From The Darkside had the coolest opening narration of any of these anthology shows. I recently bought the DVD collection and am slowly rewatching the episodes, hoping to find some I haven't seen before or remind myself of ones I've forgotten. I'm glad you listed 'Let The Games Begin'. That one is one of my favorites as well. Some of my other favorites are: 'Distant Signals'. I'm a big Darren McGavin fan, so it was nice seeing him in this one. It's an odd episode, as it has no horror, and seems more like an 80's Twlight Zone or Amazing Stories episode; 'Dream Girl'. To be honest, part of that is because I was a hormonal teenager when I first saw it, and seeing Carolyn Seymour in her Swiss Miss costume really stuck with me through the years. Speaking of 1980's anthology shows, I'm hoping you will cover my favorite, the Ray Bradbury Theater.

I’m currently doing a re-watch of the original series. I now see The Galaxy Being as being the best overall episode. I really enjoyed the rapport between the alien and Cliff Robertson’s character… Both excellently played and the special effects were great. I’m also quite impressed with the quality of the writing and the acting by everybody. The actors give it their all, despite the outlandish storylines and concepts. As far as creepy moments, which there are many… I think the female looking alien that approaches William Shatner’s spaceship in Cold Hands, Warm Heart as the creepiest. I think the original Outer Limits has to be the weirdest TV show of all time (and I’m a genre fan).
