I know that I will die sooner rather than later. Green Grass and High will always be within me knowing that when I do die, not only will I see my mom, grandma, grandpa, my ex, and all those who have passed away. I will also get to see Hendrix, Janis, Elvis, Neil, and so many people who have gone before me. I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sound quality is poor. The video of them doing this song at the Capital Theatre in New Jersey has much better audio quality and it also has Billy Jones on guitar. It's in black and white but like I said the audio is far more superior. It is from 1978.

I saw them back in the 70's dude , i'm 63 and lucky to have lived during that period of music. You dont find bands like this anymore

I am 63 also, and I saw HP band in 1979 at a small rock club in Ocean City, MD. My sister's husband's brother played drums for the opening act....... so we sat at a table in the front row.......then I moved to Tampa at the age of 17 because my dad lived there and I saw HP band again live at a water park in Tampa..... I think it might have been a water park that had been added to Lowry Park, but I don't remember........ I still love the Grey Ghost album to this day.....

What a lineup-- Hughie Thomasson: guitar, vocals Freddie Salem: guitar, back vocals Rick Cua: bass, back vocals David Dix: drums, percussion They set fire to “Green Grass And High Tides.” I just found out that Freddie Salem passed away in September, 2024. Now he’s jamming with Hughie Thomasson, Billy Jones, and Frank O’Keefe in heaven.

Ronnie, Donnie, and Johnnie Van Zant... We can go into history if you want. October of 1977, a tragedy happened. Ronnie's brothers kept his music going as well as their own.

We were playing that night sitting round our kitchen table getting money together for tickets for their concert before our show when the news broke on the crash. Messed up the next few years. We played a lot of Skynyrd along with our own. Everyone Loved Skynyrd! We've lost so many over the years, today there seems to be a huge dry spot, and no one is filling the shoes. I'm retired, most of my playin buddies are passed, retired or to unhealthy to play. I miss the old days! One day though, I will be jamming with the best!!
