The tone here and the playing is fantastic. Just love it.

The title: I thought you were to be learning a solo for a pick up gig that was on 15 minutes. Stress!! 😵💫
@PeteThorn2 сағат бұрын
Well, I actually did just learn it, and then played it that night when I went on stage... We do a little tribute to John every night, even though he technically didn't play the solo, but I try and do the last run in the spirit of him and I play all the chords with a ton of slow wide vibrato like he would've, etc. 🤘

@PeteThorn I know it's down to hard work and skill but you are _damn_ lucky to be able to do that (and make a living with music). 👍

That intro it's like edd became more of a guitar player and a bit less of a clarinet player like his dad but on the guitar. All the early stuff I just hear his dad but it's edd on guitar playing like him. I think if anyone picks up a guitar and only listens to someone like Brantford Marseilles and interpret everything into guitar they will sound something like edd.😊

Very nice, but I still prefer the old version with Bernie Marsden

It must be fun being Pete. This dude has the best chops since EVH. He makes it look easy.
@markconley551112 сағат бұрын
Was that Sykes or vandenberg? I thought he and Vivian Campbell each played a solo on one of the songs on the album.

So is this like a clone of the original made by Tom Sholtz??

Dude, your voice is AMAZING! Your tone and you are so well spoken is totally insane. You could give the great professional speakers/announcers a run for their money. Oh, and your guitar playing is top-notch kick a$$ too!!! Man, I wish I could speak and sound like you do.

As a guitarist myself of 42 years. Pete Thorn can play👍. Are you going on tour soon? I hope to drive your tour bus soon.

I will never get tired of hearing that sound. If you released a whole album with Tom Scholz-esque licks, I’d buy it in a heartbeat.

Hey Pete! Just got a V2 Flint at guitar center incorrectly marked as a V1, and priced accordingly 😳 Even with my FM3, the Flint is so inspiring. And that ‘61, my lord. You blink and it’s 2am and you’ve been vibing for 3 hours 🤦♂️

Sounds amazing Pete. Do a few solos as an homage to John Sykes, that's a beautiful solo but it's Adrian Vandenberg I believe. The is this love solo is similar in some ways but has John's beautiful wide vibrato. He really gets every bit out of every note on that one. Congratulations on getting the nod for the Satch Vai tour, an outstanding choice 🥂
@PeteThorn21 сағат бұрын
I love the "is this love" solo, we've already learned this song for this year's tour, so we're doing this one as a little tribute to Jon but yes, I know it's not actually him on the solo. Still, in the spirit.
