I am sorry you are wrong, sir. Splash Mountain was the most popular ride in the world, and that goes to all parks. You need to do better research before posting. If it isn't broken, it doesn't need to be fixed.

@HappyPlaceStudios if you did the research like I have, you would know this, my friend, but I can only point out facts you can choose to accept it or not. Lastly, the reason the change was made had everything to do with politics and nothing to do with the popularity of the ride. Current management is killing the Disney brand that Walt worked so hard to build. The splash mountain shutdown is just one example of many. If they wanted to introduce a new IP, then just add it without saying goodbye to the most riden attraction by the numbers of people who line up to enjoy that experience of any other ride in the world. The numbers don't lie.

Splash was never problematic. Also, if they were really gonna do this, not using Dr. Facilier was a huge, huge mistake.

Only reason they strayed away from him was because this is post the first movie where Dr Facilier is no longer a problem, kinda like a sequel!

Idk I feel that the retheme isn’t as bad as most say. Most of the people that have actually gone and have risen the ride seem to be mostly positive and only have slight wishes of improvements so in the case of business decisions Disney will classify this as a win!

My biggest wish is that there would’ve been more of the A1000 animatronics such as Louis and Tiana instead of the other older animatronics but Im assuming they were so expensive to make that it would’ve blown the budget

Tiana's Bayou adventure needs more work for it to be better. I have seen the Disney World version of Tiana's Bayou Adventure and while I did enjoy seeing the animatronics and hearing the soundtrack. The ride felt boring and underwhelming. It's missing the pink flamingo birds, there's no Dr. Facilier cameo anywhere or even his tombstone. There's not enough critters and no 3 possums, skunks, deer or the 3 hillbilly men Reggie, Darnell, and Two Fingers. Prince Naveen is not with Tiana until the very end. Also the dropoff was the biggest letdown. I didn't like that Mama Odie told you to get ready for the splash. What they should've done is either have Mama Odie or Dr. Facilier spirit sing "Friends on the other side", and the pink flamingos or evil shadow spirits chanting "Are you ready?". I think I'll wait until the ride is more complete and not in beta mode and hopefully the Disneyland ride Tiana ride version will have improvements later on. Otherwise this will be a boring Autopia ride at Disneyland.

I think Disney wanted to take a lot of the scare factor out of the ride to appease the younger generation tbh. Dr Facilier and the shadow figures I would assume are basically a thing of the past since this fallows the movie as a continuation of the story so you never see those characters. Based on the story as well I’m not sure where the tombstone for that character would go or if he is actually “dead” so I would make my guess that’s why he isn’t in the attraction. Over all I think there could be more animatronics to the ride but either way they wouldn’t support the current story and they’d probably change the story in some crazy way if they were added unless it was like random animals. So for me the ride is well put together it’s just the greatest piece of work Disney has ever put together when looking at other attractions but still super cute!

I slightly disagree here.. a lot of people could care less that it’s “not as good” and are entirely upset for the reason it changed. Success will always be judged on a scale for some it’s perfect, for some it good and for others it’s mediocre and bad. I myself lean closer to the good side with the only major flaw is that a couple of scenes aren’t as full as I would like. Other wise, based on videos only(will have an in person experience come the end of October) I enjoy the amazing animatronics and the story!

I agree Splash Mountain was about history and this new ride is about a fictional character, but I haven't been to a theme park in almost 40 years next year and my experience at Six Flags Over Texas had nothing to do with IP's. Those rides were about how fun they look to ride and the only ride with characters was a water ride called the Spelunkers Cave, but they had nothing to do with an IP. They were just little aliens like characters with animatronics hammering in a dark cave and dressed in bright German like outfits. It wasn't until after the last time I went when Warner Bros bought the parks and started changing the rides to include IP's. I slept in a bed, not a Batmobile bed. I think modern audiences focus too much on IP's and that's not where the real fun is. It's in the experience. You realize they want IP's so they can jack up the price on tickets and make more money than they already have.

I absolutely love this response! IPs are generally never an immediate success instead they are for the future generations that will be the adults in the next 10 years that will drive future revenue. IPs are solely for the fan base that’s connected to it for profits and to charge more. This sucks for those who have no connection to it or who have out grown it because you still have to pay the increase in fee. But the business itself has to think of a way to be more profitable every year and an easy way to do that are those IPs. As a business decision I am not mad about that truthfully, as an individual I can see where some get upset!

Splash Mountain never carried over any of the so-called “problematic” elements from South of the South. It’s literally just about Brer Rabbit outwitting Brer Fox. I went my whole childhood never knowing what Song of the South even was until I reached adulthood. I guarantee you no little kid ever correlated a ride about Brer Rabbit with some obscure, defunct film that Disney has done their best to erase from existence.

I agree, I loved the attraction and never knew the tie in until much older(meaning I didn’t know the movie). But I think certain people didn’t like the fact that it was tied to it inside of the company that led to the decision to make a change. But I’m not opposed to bringing Tiana’s in, I enjoyed the movie thoroughly and love the fact that they brought a little of New Orleans to the Parks!

The problem people have with this re theme isn’t with the IP. It’s with the ride itself. Every scene in splash mountain was devoted to telling you apart of the story. Brer Rabbit wants to leave the briar patch and see the world, makes critter friends along the way, but gets captured by a hungry fox. Brer Rabbit then manages to outsmart him and return home, where he realizes he belongs. What’s the story in this new ride? “Let’s find an animal band for the party.” That’s it. Not to mention that they have one of the biggest show buildings on property and left half the scenes completely empty. The point is that Disney is, or at least was, the standard in theme parks, and they failed to meet their own standard. They promised us something better, and they didn’t deliver. That’s why people are upset.

I agree that the scenes could be way more filled in at least half the ride but I like the whole story of doing your best to get to the party at the end. The whole story now is supporting local community and expressing your own creativity like Tiana does with her cooking. I think the story may have could’ve been described a little more clearly but I like the new direction!

Nah the themes bad. But it's because it was done to appease a small group of whiney obnoxious blue haired brats. No one ever walked of splash mountain and became a racist. If it offended you...then never go outside. People need to get thicker skin.

Totally agree! IDK why Disney is dumping things down now, it's sad. All one can hope for is that someday they'll see the error in their ways, and bring back the charm and insightfulness that was the bedrock of the parks. I lost it when this guy said the Princess and the Frog was a "smash hit" and "Disney classic", I was a kid living in Florida when it came out , and nobody I knew liked the movie. Like, nobody that's not already a Disney fan thinks Princess and the Frog is a classic, and the IP cannot drive new people into parks

Why not? AI is getting better and better! Soon enough, I believe someone who has never been some where on vacation will be able to ask AI to plan their entire vacation down to specific details and it will give them the best possible trip and book it for them!

I don't see them opening a 5th park. They already have 4 parks that they can continue to expand/develop. The expansion beyond thunder mountain and retheme of dinoland would be the best answer to epic universe as well as updating some attractions.
