Please be more specific: You are talking about commercial-grade spyware and malware. Government-grade spyware, such as Pegasus and FinSpy, cannot be detected even by well-known antivirus apps. Indexing a piece of code as "spyware" or "malware" is also tricky and usually is a decision made by a few guys who are employees of an IT company that codes antivirus software. To do that, you first need at least a few lines of the source code (decompiling a virus is not easy). If you consider only what the app does on the phone, indexing that app as a virus might be wrong.

You have a limited vision of cell phone hacking. You have to distinguish between hackers (who always illegally hack phones for illegal purposes) and law enforcement and intelligence agencies that remotely hack your phone, but with a legal warrant and for legal purposes. An example is Pegasus. Problems arise when law enforcement hacks a cell phone illegally (without a warrant). This happens even in democratic countries. Let's face it: who do you fear most, a hacker (that has as the sole purpose of making some money from you after hacking your cell phone) or an abusive government that hacks your cell phone to track all your moves, listen in all your phone calls, read all your messages and basically, having free access to your whole personal life? The last one is more dangerous for most people. The fact that "you don't have anything to hide" is nonsense because, in this case, you don't know what privacy is. Also, except when you hear voices in your head and talk to them, all other conversations involve at least another person who might not have the same beliefs as you, considering illegal/warrantless phone interception as privacy-invasive. One more thing: Pegasus is government-grade spyware that is not available to regular people who call themselves "hackers." It can be bought and used only by governments. FlexySpy, for instance, is commercial-grade spyware that anyone can purchase and use. The only difference is remote-install capabilities (which commercial-grade spyware does not have). You messed up a bit. Also, jailbreaks are not removed after restarting. The same is true of Android rooting. Yes, rooting can be reversed, but not by restarting the phone. And no installed app can be removed by simply restarting the phone. Pegasus bypasses passwords, PINs, biometric locks, and 32 popular antivirus ("security apps") apps. Scarry? For sure. It is always used by the people you consider "the good guys": law enforcement. Regarding MFA (2FA): 2 weeks ago, the FBI warned Gmail, Outlook, AOL, and Yahoo Users that hackers Gain Access To Accounts, bypassing MFA. Not only public Wi-Fi networks are dangerous, but even your home or office Wi-Fi network: there are available Wi-Fi interception devices that individuals can buy. The Hack5 Pineapple Wi-Fi is one of them. And it is damn good when used in conjunction with Wireshark. Do I have to mention that government-grade Wi-Fi interceptors are state-of-the-art? VPN protects against hackers but not against abusive government. Some VPN servers and apps have someone behind them: the big brother. Remember the Anon app scandal, where the FBI was behind that "encrypted" messaging app? Think twice before using any VPN because you cannot check who really is behind it. VPNs are definitely not a solution for privacy.

Actually I have tested the Google play protect, McAfee, in my samsung Galaxy A35 5G the free version I have installed the App called the "magisk" the antivirus software and Google's play protect did not find the app suspicious, but I use the same app in the "Virus total" it detects the virus virus total has nearly 72 Kinds of different antivirus that can check for your devices and files for malicious and vulnerable apps, it is free and you can get 1000 request per day for free for URL,Files,Apps etc.I have suggested this to android 16, so if guys ask for Android 16 with this update then they will be able to give this in the later Android 16, this not for me but for the people who has no knowledge of the security and privacy this is really an good way to use it. Thanks 😊

Thank you for this video. How does the scanning work - is it on device scanning ? Are the files and apps on the iOS device stored in your servers during scanning?
@certosoftware9 күн бұрын
Hey, thanks for your questions. The scanning varies by device: If you have an Android phone then it's on device scanning, just download the Certo app from the Play Store and you're good to go. For iPhone the scan is run via your computer over USB. Just download the Certo app to a Windows or Mac computer, plugin your iPhone and click Scan. Due to way Apple devices work, you need to run the scan from a computer in order to perform a deep scan. In both cases no data leaves your devices and all scanning is performed directly on your phone/computer.

Sir what about while typing the password? Can they not see your google keyboard while touching the alphabets? Thank you
@certosoftware9 күн бұрын
If a keylogger is installed on your phone then yes, they will be able to see the things you type into your keyboard. If you suspect a keylogger, then I wouldn't recommend entering any passwords on your phone and use a different secure device to change your passwords until the keylogger has been removed from your phone. Certo's free apps for iPhone and Android can help find and remove keyloggers.

nowadays most app legit apps ask for unwanted permission so we have to give them. some dont even work without those unnecessary permission
@certosoftware17 күн бұрын
You’re absolutely right-many apps request permissions that don’t seem necessary for their core function, which can be frustrating and concerning. One tip is to review permissions after installation by going to Settings > Privacy & Security > App Privacy Report on your iPhone. This allows you to see what data each app accesses and adjust permissions accordingly. For apps that refuse to work without certain permissions, consider alternatives with a better privacy policy. Thanks for bringing this up; it’s an important point for anyone concerned about digital privacy!

@certosoftware17 күн бұрын
Thanks for the comment! If you’re using a modern device with a strong passcode, your data is actually quite secure if it gets stolen. Most newer phones have built-in encryption that protects your information, even if someone connects a cable to it.
That’s a smart move! A daily restart can stop certain types of malware from running persistently in the background as well as clear out temporary files and refresh your phone’s memory. It’s a simple step that can contribute to overall performance and security.

I have tried every single action possible to get rid of my 4 year stalker hackers...they keep coming back. Ive shut everything down, don't use wifi any more, installed Certo and they hacked it along with every other virus protector and they all got hacked. Did factory data reset..didnt work..they were still there when i reset back up. I removed apps 4:49 i used, removed phone numbers, set up under an alias with new phones emails phone numbers they still came back. Todate i have 8 signed out devices attached to my google account, they get in through you tube now, they watch my videos, the block me from watch private videos that are coming up in my search history, they access my Gmail, they keep trying to put my phone onto RCS chats, google play tells me someone's trying to sign in so i change my passwords and find that 5 minutes later someone else is signing in??? Been to police been to Cyber fraud and get no help so where do you go from here? They dont atyack my bank account, but they do post videos of me on the web, there has been 4 years of cyberbullying that has had devastating effects..so where do you go for help?

it wouldn't really work to look at permissions.. I mean, many apps have or want some strange access, and some can't be taken away.. some aren't aware that their apps have the access, or know what they have allowed them to do, just with the access.. and it's similar with cookies, and the "legitimate reasons", and that is just, some annoying thing of a hassle, because you have to go through it manually.. some don't care, some don't bother, or maybe they just get tired of the pop-ups and accepts all of it to begin with..
@DizDrop-nm7vy5 ай бұрын
What if it will not let you remove the permission
@certosoftware4 ай бұрын
If you're having trouble removing certain permissions for an app it might be because it's required for the app to function. Examples include: run at startup, run background service, full network access, view network and Wi-Fi connections, check your advertising ID, and access hardware such as biometrics, NFC, or Bluetooth. If the app in question has a permission that you can't remove and you don't need the app then you can uninstall it from your phone.

If someone knows your Gmail password then a factory reset won't help in that case. Instead, change the password for your Google account as soon as possible and enable 2-Step Verification for added security.

Can certo detect and remove the spyware?
@certosoftware5 ай бұрын
Absolutely, Certo's Android app has thousands of definitions for spyware allowing it to detect a wide range of Android spyware. If a threat is found just tap the Remove button to permanently remove it from your device.
@idcrafter-cgi6 ай бұрын
a factory reset is not 100% bullet proof if you catch a very good spyware that gaiend root acces and patched the bootloader and os to be present and not able to be detected easily due to also being able to hide and run.
@certosoftware5 ай бұрын
Thanks for your comment. You're correct that some sophisticated spyware can remain after a factory reset, however attacks such as these are very rare and we wanted to make this video as helpful as possible to a typical spyware victim. In the vast majority of cases, a factory reset will remove any spyware on the device.
