a factory reset is not 100% bullet proof if you catch a very good spyware that gaiend root acces and patched the bootloader and os to be present and not able to be detected easily due to also being able to hide and run.

Thanks for your comment. You're correct that some sophisticated spyware can remain after a factory reset, however attacks such as these are very rare and we wanted to make this video as helpful as possible to a typical spyware victim. In the vast majority of cases, a factory reset will remove any spyware on the device.

Correct I am also hit by that spyware and still don't know how to remove it

I agree, they can lock themselves into your software and still be there when you set back up..I know this personally

My sister mobile hacked (spy) can you please tell us how to remove it. Hackers can see all her messages, calls, contacts and everything. Even when the mobile is on flight mood, they can listen everything what we speak at home. Please help us.

it wouldn't really work to look at permissions.. I mean, many apps have or want some strange access, and some can't be taken away.. some aren't aware that their apps have the access, or know what they have allowed them to do, just with the access.. and it's similar with cookies, and the "legitimate reasons", and that is just, some annoying thing of a hassle, because you have to go through it manually.. some don't care, some don't bother, or maybe they just get tired of the pop-ups and accepts all of it to begin with..

Just install it?? Are you kidding? I have apps that won't let me do anything. The permissions are even grayed out so I can't revoke. You act like it's easy. I've changed passwords, changed phones and I have no control over my data

network monitoring would also be a useful tool for more sophisticated malware.
@certosoftware3 ай бұрын
Yes, this would also be a useful check however we tried to keep this video fairly accessible and this a bit more of an in-depth technical exercise. However, we may do a future video dedicated to threat detection at a network level. Thanks for your comment.

Someone DEFINITELY seems to know private information only kept on an Android phone - GOOGLE! And they're showing related ads to rub it in lol!
@certosoftware3 ай бұрын
Thanks for the comment! There are a few ways you can limit this: 1. Use a search engine designed for privacy, such as DuckDuckGo. 2. Use a web browser designed for privacy, such as Brave. 3. Use a VPN.

Can certo detect and remove the spyware?
@certosoftware3 ай бұрын
Absolutely, Certo's Android app has thousands of definitions for spyware allowing it to detect a wide range of Android spyware. If a threat is found just tap the Remove button to permanently remove it from your device.

What if it will not let you remove the permission
@certosoftware3 ай бұрын
If you're having trouble removing certain permissions for an app it might be because it's required for the app to function. Examples include: run at startup, run background service, full network access, view network and Wi-Fi connections, check your advertising ID, and access hardware such as biometrics, NFC, or Bluetooth. If the app in question has a permission that you can't remove and you don't need the app then you can uninstall it from your phone.

If a hacker has my gmail passwords and control of my phone is a fatory reset gonna work for me?? PLEASE LET ME KNOW B4 I BREAK DOWN AND DO A RESET..... 🙏
@certosoftware3 ай бұрын
If someone knows your Gmail password then a factory reset won't help in that case. Instead, change the password for your Google account as soon as possible and enable 2-Step Verification for added security.
