Does the motor & drive shaft need oiling on legacy steam? Say an S3. If so I guess the shell has to come off?

Do you really need the legacy remote to operate your trains? I’m not paying $500 for some stupid remote.

Do the steam locomotives generally have traction tires in pairs (i.e., one on each side)? I bought a 4-4-2 NYC Flyer and there seems to only be a single traction tire on the whole locomotive (rear left side), which surprises me??

Very late comment but I have a Pennsylvania F7 which is also a Lionel Legacy I got off of Ebay. Theres a problem with mine. I use a Lionchief controller and it keeps having drops causing the train’s sound effects to go off then back on while in motion. Is this because Im using a Lionchief controller? All my other trains dont have voltage drops. Do I need a Legacy Remote for it to work properly? Its also worth to mention that I have a power box that gives decent enough power

You're video worked!!!!! Finally got my trains running, lol so it helps not having any other train on that layout as you program that engine. I did not know that lol

I really like your videos, they helped alot, but for some reason I'm still running into issues. I have a TMCC engine and a cab2 remote, I did what you said in video, nothing seemed to happen. Now I did have the cab 2 hooked correctly because I have other Bluetooth engines and when I went to power the cab 2 on throttle, all the OTHER engines except the TMCC one moved suddenly lmao 🤣 I kinda got a laugh but said, well atleast I know it's connected to the track lmao.

Get a hot glue gun and glue 1x1 under the track vertically cut to length then glue the cut 1x1 under the length of the track

Great video for everyone. I especially liked the tip using cup with toothpick to hit those hard to reach areas. I wanted to share that JT Megasteam sells smoke applicator bottles with needles. I bought the larger one and labeled Oil. This needle fits in the tightest places Never understood why Lionel packaged their oil with such s large applicator? Stay well

Nice instruction, but what if your not using fast track using and using regular Lionel O/O27 or Menards metal tubular track? Should've also included that. I already know how but other viewers might have Dad or Grandad's trains and want to add on a Legacy engine.

I want to have 2 legacy trains on one track. How can I "automate" for a train behind to slow down or stop if there is a slower train ahead? With conventional systems, I saw they used isolated blocks. But for legacy systems with CAB2 remote, how can I do it?

Why do some TMCC or legacy locos not follow commands every day? Some engine may sound but no response to move or sound commands. Some just nothing.

So would I have to do the same thing for the Cab1/Base 1L? According to Lionel I’d need a 18 gauge wire to power the cab1. Can I just do what you just did to power the cab1/Base1L? I bought the Cab1/Base 1L so I can use the other features on the Lionchief Plus 2.0 Polar Express Berkshire. I’m only using half of the features using the Lionchief universal remote. Like I know isn’t really helpful at the moment and they’re confusing me a lot more than usual. So I just have to do what you just did in this video and I should be able to access all the features after I program the Lionchief plus polar Express, right?
