Congrats! I thought they stopped orders in March though? How did you still get one?

***** Thanks. I take you reply as an indication that you have seen the interview about the Big Boy with Mike Reagan. In the video, he stated that the catalog was slated to be released in January, and orders were to be taken until March. The catalog was not released until March, so I believe that orders were extended a little bit so they would not end right after the catalog was released. The deadline was three days ago as of this typing. (May 14.) I ordered mine from Legacy Station in Georgia, which ended orders in the 12th. I ordered the Big Boy of my favorite number, 4006, as it was the first, I've seen on video (I Love Toy Trains #10), and the only I've seen in real life. I'll probably give you more updates on the Big Boy as time goes by, and once I have a better camera, film a running video for you and others to see.

It is very well made. When I saw my grandpa's 2008 Volume 1 Catalog, I saw this listed in there. I saw it...two years ago. There's no hope for me. Enjoy this locomotive. I'm jealous. (Not really.) From what I've seen, I have no complaints about this Big Boy. I *do* have one complaint about the VISION Big Boys though. They don't come equipped with TruRail Dialog. It doesn't address the locomotive's railroad and road number directly. Your locomotive does. It's not a deal breaker, but it's a small let down that I wouldn't expect from Lionel. I plan on ordering it over the weekend!

+Morbid Mansion Old news, but I ended the order before shipments came in. I didn't have the funds to buy a two thousand dollar computer on wheels. I bought a camera with my money. Having a job now, I can afford any new VISION release. To answer your question, it indeed does. A rarity from Lionel.

Hi, I just came across your video while looking up the Lionel Union Pacific Big Boy 6-11149 and was hoping you could maybe answer a question. When my son was young he liked trains and I bought a few sets for him. I also started collecting the K-Line State Quarter Bank trains, later produced by K-Line by Lionel. I collected all 50 plus the 4 extra US Mint & Caboose cars so 54 cars total. When I was looking for an engine to pull this set, this Union Pacific Big Boy was suggested to me so I picked one up and it is stored with the State Quarter cars. The engine and the cars are still in their unopened boxes - new. Do you know if this engine can pull 54 cars? My son is now a Senior in college and has moved on from model trains. I wouldn't mind donating the set for public display if I could find the right place to do it. Thanks for any feedback!

Don't donate this train set anywhere but to YOUR SON. He will want it and when he has a son of his own it will be something to remind him of his time with YOU .Its a great engine and very powerful and will probably pull all 54 cars on a level surface Besides ,what you have will be in the end , be very rare and worth the wait .
