Hi! Thanks for the video. I'm new to card games. At 10:50 you say you would mulligan even if you have a two drop if "you're on the draw"? What does "on the draw" mean? And is it really worth risking not getting a turn one play for the lightsaber?

That means going second sorry. But yes, you need to actually know what's important in a matchup and it's not always a t1 play

Yeah the glucose advice was really interesting to me as a diabetic. I'm gonna try to find some low/no carb snacks and food so I can use my allotment on a full-strength soda.
@guygrohl761019 сағат бұрын
@@imrahil_327 @dipstick555 Big thing to keep in mind, like he said, everyone's body works differently. Find what works for you. The way sugar impacts a diabetic or someone with a corn syrup sensitivity may be different from someone without. The way caffeine affects "normal" people may be completely different for someone with various forms of neurodivergence. It takes a lot of time to find what works but try and be mindful during the day of how your body is feeling or reacts to certain stimuli, and eventually over time come up with a gameplan for yourself. Bananas are a great little snack with a decent amount of sugar and potassium. It may be better to take small snacks all day instead of a big meal during a lunch break depending on how your body metabolizes things. Music might help you focus but it might also make you sleepy.

as a former mtg pro, I relate to a lot of this. Having best practices has served me well over the many games I've played competitively. One key takeaway I would want to emphasize is that do what works for you, everyone is different. Personally: -get enough sleep the night before -bring a water bottle and stay hydrated -eat when you can, don't wait until you're starving -be in good physical shape if you can Basically, take care of your body. Your brain works better when the body is healthy. Good luck this weekend and say hi to Reflex for me haha Miranda

Pershing is crazy if unaddressed. I had one in a Boba Blue game that drew me 7 cards, I think. When my opponent Qi’ra flipped they actually healed him and gave me extra draws.
@nicolascuenca2544 күн бұрын
I feel 55 minutes for 3 rounds isn't enough especially if draws mean double loss. It just makes playing aggro decks a much better proposition. I definitely had to play different in Saturday so we didn't get into that awkward whos going to conceded moment.
@SWU_KTOD4 күн бұрын
Yeah it's fast. Not sure what to do I've been playing really fast bc my opponents do not
@Krullenkoning4 күн бұрын
What… I really don’t see how people need the full 55 minutes for a match. Maybe its because over half my locals comes from other games like YGO where time on matches is even shorter, but no shot people get to think more than 5 seconds on single standalone actions right??? I get taking 20 seconds on resolving a vader ETB and ambush, but other than that, the tournament policy indicating 10-15 sec is more than enough in my experience.
@stropes.3 күн бұрын
@@Krullenkoning Yep, the only way this happens is if people aren't having their opponents keep pace. Still, I often see people seem completely blindsided when you show them the FFG OP Rules document which says 10-15 seconds in Competitive tier events (with an occasional longer round here and there). Most people seem to think you get 30 seconds to a minute (or more) each and every time. I'm really not looking forward to calling out slow plays all weekend at a PQ but a LOT of players are playing incredibly slowly pretty much everywhere I've been.

If you are not too far behind, Captain Rex's flip turn can be really good.. With an empty board you can play Manufactured Soldiers for 2 clone (or 3 droids), Echo who will be a 4/5 when you flip Rex and get a third clone, then at 6 resources play Unit Rex.. Dang, just read the comments.. Someone already posted this 😅 Yea with the new green base yo also get 2 droids that's 1/2s..😊

Yeah, captain Rex seems at least interesting to me. I really hate that the leader side action costs 2 instead of 1 (it would probably be broken if it didn't though), but the flip turn seems really nutty. Let's say you have absolutely nothing on board, so worst case scenario. But then you deploy him, and play Yularen and Echo. You now have: a 2/5, a 4/6, a 2/7, and a 2/4. Even if your oponnent Barrages, he'll get rid of a single unit. Seems interesting.

A double green Rex deck with the 24 health base is in my opinion going to be pretty promising, since, with Command, Rex can come in on turn 3 and you can have 2 1/2, 1 2/3, and 1 2/6 just by simply deploying your leader. Now imagine turn two you played Manufactured Soldiers. The potential for a Double Green Rex deck is there, even if his leader ability isn’t that good.
