This video was created for lockdown lessons and this is a regular table at a teachers home. There is no set rule as long as things are done in a sensible and orderly manner using analysis of movement to help the child. In our school we ask the child to place the material at the centre of the table. Our chairs are child sized so we have no problem placing the material while the chair is front. Hope that answered your question
