Prior to this the child has worked with the Number Rods activity, then to.The Sandpaper Numerals.1- 9 . She has also had experience associating Quantity to Numeral 1- 10. with the Number Rods and number cards.
This activity called The 'Spindle boxes ' allows her to experience sequence of numbers as well as 'quantity' required for each number.
This child previously completed the Spindle Boxes in English and here she is learning the same in Sinhala language.
You dont need to have spindles! Dr. Maria Montessori created this in the early 19'00's ! you can use any object that looks.identical...like buttons, sticks etc.
