2nd listen and Ecclesiastes 3:11 comes to mind regarding the way God is continually working out His plan and how we at times may be used in part but not privy to all His works.

Hallelujah and amen 🙏🙌. Revelation 17 prophesies the fate of Babylon, and later, the Antichrist, False Prophet and Satan himself doomed together in the lake of fire forever and Bible believing Christians and our Savior and King of Kings and Lords of Lords and Israel shall forever rejoice over the wicked trinity and Babylon's downfall. Amen 🙏🙏 and thank God 🙏🙏🤚 for Pastor Spurgeon!!!

So very true, by reading in a sequential way, one will get the meaning of the text, of course we need the guidance by the Holy Spirit. I do have a question, why does our donnation has a tax added to it? May the Lord be glorified in your work.

At 44'38" Spurgeon points out that we all must admit to being "criminals" before God. But, consider Romans 5:8 " but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." And here is something else to consider, which I am just now coming to realize the importance of, 1st Corinthians 14:1-3, " Pursue love, and earnestly desire the spiritual gifts, especially that you may prophesy. 2) For one who speaks in a tongue, speaks not to men but to God; for no one understands him, but he utters mysteries in the Spirit. 3) On the other hand, the one who prophesies speaks to people for their upbuilding and encouragement and consolation."

Something we have which Spurgeon didn't have is the www. This sermon directed me to a Wikipedia article entitled 'letter and spirit of the law' and under the sub heading 'the Bible' the focus is on 2 Cor. 3:4-6 4) "Such is the confidence that we have through Christ toward God. 5) Not that we are sufficient in ourselves to claim anything as coming from us, but our sufficiency is from God, 6) who has made us sufficient to be ministers of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life."

Some other prods for turning to Christ; don't Edge God Out, i.e. ...(EGO) gotta go! Don't follow the elephant or the donkey, do follow the Lamb!!! USA specific but consider the following. ".......even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body." KJV...Eph. 5:23 Then as recorded at Mt.28:16-20 consider the following; Eleven of Jesus' disciples followed his directive after the resurrection to meet him in Galilee where they were further directed to " make disciples of all nations,..." Did the disciples follow the directive? At that time the Roman empire dominated the 'world' but consider Isaiah 40:17 "All nations before him are as nothing, and they are counted to him less than nothing, and vanity." KJV Ecclesiastes 3:11 reads "He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, he has put eternity into man's heart, yet so that he cannot find out what God has done from the beginning unto the end." So with me the journey started at age 18 in Pendleton, Indiana when I experienced my first ever Protestant sermon delivered by a missionary from Nigeria. Interesting that Frederick Douglas preached in that town but unlike the Nigerian preacher, Douglas was attacked by a visiting mob and injured. So an article, possibly on Wikipedia. I couldn't say whether the Nigerian preacher delivered the gospel or not but this was a significant point in my life and possibly his 'discipleship' came down through the work of one or more of the eleven.
