In navy boot camp 2009 they couldn't touch you at all. The first week they couldn't even IT you until you cleared medical. Then it was fair game. 😂

Early 1980s the DIs were still using all these lines. I remember just about every single line in the movie being said. Hands on was winding down and they were careful. If they felt they needed more than one hit, slap, whatever they'd take you somewhere else where no one would see. As late as early 2000s they would still kick, hit but much less.

As an auditory learner It has been my struggle to get a good score on the Picat and or ASAVB what do u recommend that can help me out I put a lot of time into learning and doing the study but knowing the ASAVB is a complicated test and I do good on the practice test but not good on the real do u think to a combination of failers or is it something I doing that I am not doing right also what study guide would u recommend for an auditory learner's someone else I know but I want to join the marines its something that I really want to do.

Marines are a bunch of bulllies too. They will exploit your weakness. Dont show weakness. Military for money????? I have a bridge to sell you. Marines for medical training?? I have a bridge to sell you. GI Bill all the way. Got out and spent all that GI Bill money and got my degree. Another great reason to join military. If you leave with a honorable discharge, you can file for independent status for financial aid and on tax return although you live at home.

I had an experience similar to what happened to me. Two women in their 60s and are my neighbors gossip and bear false witness. Horrible women. I don't have anything to do with them. But, they coerce me into confrontation. Well, one night I told them to mind their own business. Next thing the cops came, I'm arrested, and spent the night in jail. They both lied to the cops. I had no witness. It happens. People are bad! These women don't respect veterans whether they are men or women.

Hey Demetrius, I was in Army Basic in the mid 80s, and while DIs were (supposedly) not allowed to hit recruits, we DEFINITELY had some colorful characters as DIs, including cussing galore. But I do know back as late as the 1960s, hitting still occurred in Basic.

I considered joining back when I was in high school and again in my early 20s now I’m 25 and for awhile thought wouldn’t be joining but then I looked into OCS and been feeling pretty strong about it. Currently nearing the end of my compsci degree but having a bit of trouble with some classes. If all goes well and I pass my bachelors strongly considering joining as an Officer. Do worry a bit about some things I’ve engaged with in the past might be an issue. Got in trouble for buying weed as a teen didn’t end up smoking till I was older, had a bit of a reliance for a time but dialed back a lot the past few years. Rarely smoking if ever. Also used to engage with a lot of political content and debates so idk if that could play a factor in being accepted or not,

That drill instructor was the fat marines best friend he was trying to get him to shape up so he would survive. Yes he was tortured a bit but it was for his own good and to a degree it worked, but he was a lame loser . He should have realised he had improved and moved on

Most devil dogs don’t do 20 years cause it’s hard to stay in. It’s very competitive most senior staff do not care about your well-being or your career has been enlisted. It’s up to you.! It’s what you make of it! I was active duty seven years and been out seven years . enlisted marine should be thinking about transitioning out before 2 years in 1st contract. I say cause Usmc only cares about manpower/ body’s , if have enough body they drop like hot potato 🥔

The Green Berets at FNG Academy were both POGs. They say it's BS. One was a 68W, the other was a cook. The medic said he got POG shit in the worst way.
