I know it's "old" video, but i have one question: When I'm bottling after fermentation, I put cca 3g of dextrose(sugar) in every bottle to make natural CO2. Byproduct is sediment at the bottom of every bottle, after gassing proces. Did you have sediment formed in your bottles after using your technique with melted sugar mixed with fermented wort?

Hey ! Great process for your homebrew ! I have the same Klarstein and the grainfather cc chiller (I haven't installed it yet). I wonder about the compatibility with temperature >80°C during sterilization of the cc whiller and the pump which is not design for that... And how about the hops residue through the pump ? you've never had a pump problem? Cheers from France :)
@TeddybeerBrewing3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, my manual say not to use the pump with boiling worth. What I do is just wait for the temperature to drop some degrees before I switch it on to stearalize the worth chiller (circulate for 5mins or so). I've had no problem with this. When it comes to hops and pump, I use a hop spider to collect much of the hops, but it will not collectors all. That's why I have bought an inside filter at the size of the bottom that will collect most of the hops that escapes from the hop spider, or hop bag if that's what you use 🙂 I'm so pleased with this machine. Makes great 🍻 Cheers!

Hey there great video! I am really new to homebrewing so this might be a stupid question: Why not bottling straight from the fermentation tank?
@skeeno52923 жыл бұрын
When he was putting it in the second bucket out of the fermentation vessel he had a sugar solution in the second bucket which would mix in with the beer he was putting in there. Another way would be to put your sugar in each of the bottles for carbonation in which case you could just bottle straight from the fermentation vessel

Love the video. Very informative! A little late for the show but I'm hoping for an answer. Why do you choose to let the wort flow into the bucket and not just ad the sugar in the fermentation barrel you have? Is it for the mixing of the sugar? It just seems to have more risk of contamination. Thx again

Still a great video to get some idea’s how to do homebrewing efficiently . About cleaning the hoses and the tap of the bottle bucket you use with the plant sprayer: what kind of cleaning liquid did you exactly use ? I see you’re not afraid of letting the foam be in contact with the wort, so it has to be something natural (I would say). Please let me know, so I can do the same in a few days as I’m going to bottle my first batch of en American IPA. Greets from the Netherlands , Jeroen.

Fermenting ? So the Klarstein I see on Amazon claims SECURE: Up to 8 gallons of brewing contents can ripen peacefully in the large stainless steel kettle. Fixed clamps hold the lid and airtight sealing ring securely on the fermentation vessel, and prevent the disturbance of the fermentation process. EASY TO TAP: The supplied plastic fermentation tube ensures the necessary pressure equalization. Thanks to acrylic plugs, it fits airtight in the intended lid opening. When ready, the finished beer can be tapped directly via the built-in drain tap.

Hi, thanks for liking my video. I was fermenting for 2 weeks but not with the jacket. You see when I'm doing the dry hopping, the keg is inside an insulated box with a heater to control the temperature. @TeddybeerBrewing6 жыл бұрын
Before I had a similar system, only a bit smaller kettle and a separate sirculation pump, not build in like this. This system gets me a little bit higher efficiency. The reason I bought this was the 40 liter volume instead of my old 30liter, and if course the build-in pump :) This works just great 👍

@@TeddybeerBrewing thanks for the reply. I just switched to this system and my efficiency dropped to 50-55 from 75-80 before, and can't figure out why... @TeddybeerBrewing6 жыл бұрын
@@hudeczandras6196 I'm not sure why. Does this happened every brewday? What I can think is if the grains are crushed in wrong size (I use 1,25mm) or if you have used a lot of wheat in your recipe (stuck mash), or you should add more water in your mash (3.5l/kilo of grains. Last brewday I end up with 80% mash efficiency. That's normal here, between 80 and 85
@hudeczandras61966 жыл бұрын
@@TeddybeerBrewing yes, I was thinking about crush size and water myself. I used 3l/kg but then had to add some more to cover al the grain. Crush size: are you sure about 1.25mm? Isn't it 0.25? My mill can do 0.25-1mm, I crushed 0.5-6mm but it might have been still too large. I brewed twice so far with this kit, 58 and 55% efficiency...
@TeddybeerBrewing6 жыл бұрын
@@hudeczandras6196 1mm or less sounds very small. Also keep in mind that the outside surface of the grains should be intact after crushing the grains since those works like a good filtration. I always crush my grains at 1.25mm. I think the problems lays there 👍 And when I brewing with wheat I add rice hulls (for good filtration) so I won't have any stuck mash or low efficiency. So next time try to crush the grains not smaller than 1.2 👍

Tnks upfront for your answer!!1

Hi, and thanks for liking my video 😉 When it comes to beersmith, I've never use it on my receipt. I only copy receipts I find on the internet. I'm not so worry myself if I don't hit the OG spot on. But most times I'm getting close. The reason that I'm mashing for 90 minutes is exactly what you're thinking. I feel that the extra 30 minutes gives a better result. Maybe it doesn't, but that's how I like to do it :)
