@jeyen9323 сағат бұрын
started enshrouded today. i’m still a bit overwhelmed with the base building system or it feels a bit clunky to me… so i have to ask, is this house / base all self build? ^^ or is it some kind of refurnished structure.. cause the big open house inside looks really amazing
@RascallyRasmus16 сағат бұрын
I’m with you on that. Building is quite versatile but takes some getting used to. Our current base is indeed a refurbished tavern in Revelwood, so I unfortunately can’t take credit for the design. There are a lot of structures across the game that easily can be turned in to a base so keep an eye out for one you like :)

Are some weapons super strong or some super weak in terms of balance? I swear every video I watch the person is using a wand.
@RascallyRasmus2 күн бұрын
I haven’t really used 2 handed melee weapons much so can’t say how those are, but I generally think most weapons are viable, even if some things are stronger than others. Melee used to struggle with flying enemies but the new skill allowing you to hook flying enemies with your grappling hook should help with that. In my experience daggers are pretty decent for single target but not so great for multiple enemies. Where as 1h melee (and presumably 2h melee) is better at hitting multiple enemies at once. Bow seems to be pretty good but does require that you craft good arrows and invest your skill points into making it better. I think the reason a lot people are using wands is that wands is the only ranged option that doesn’t require either arrows, or mana to use. Personally I’m currently using it as a gap-filler when I need to regenerate mana in between casting spells. Hope that makes sense :)

My main tip I need is: Is there a better place to build than another? Or can you just start building in an early area and then just use those alters to portal around but not have to rebuild your base in a better "later game" area?
@RascallyRasmus2 күн бұрын
That is a very good point! I should definitely have included that in the video because this was something we were unsure about too when we started. You can build wherever you’d like and just fast travel to altars. There is no particular benefit to having your base in a specific zone. The only risk is that you might find an area that you like better in terms of aesthetics later on haha.

I used to adore Sun Haven. Spent 400+ hours into it and even bought the DLC to support the devs. Then they censored the women's portraits, didn't pay their translators, allegedly copied assets from other games, and revealed their pro-LGBT words were false and they were actually anti-LGBT in their actions. @@LilyEvans1996 While their reasons are vague and it's unknown what the exact motivations are, the Sun Haven team censored the women's portraits by covering up cleavage in a slapdash way. Like, it looked vary obviously photoshoped. It was in an update with no warning, we had no idea they were doing it until they had announced the update. Like, no "we'll be updating the portraits" mentioned at all in the dev log. They only did this to female characters, leaving the sexy men's portraits alone, and only did it to the ones with larger breasts. It was so selective as to appear to many of the female players like they were body shaming women with certain body types or not caring that they had so many bi or lesbian female players. After immense backlash from their primarily-female and largely LGBT player base, they changed the portraits back mere days later, but their reason for doing it in the first place remains unclear, as there's been several conflicting reasons and it's hard to verify which came from a dev team member and which is just a fan theory.

Another important tip about followers is that their inventory works differently from the players. Followers don't have a weight limit, only a inventory space limit. They can carry in the 2000ths of wood and not break a sweat So ironically giving them a backpack makes it so they carry less stuff You should still give them clothes with hp boosting materials though or they will fold like wet tissue paper if an enemy ever looks at them Another important tip for inventory managment is the pepsy box. It's a magical structure that's bassically the chest from Resident Evil. Everything put in a Pepsy box will appear in any other Pepsy box you make. So if you carry the compomnents to make a pepsy box you can just make one, drop all your heavy stuff and then dismantal it again and keep going. Like followers Pepsy boxes also don't have a weight limit so you can have a lot of inventory spaces that ignore weight. And as a last tip you can make a small storage sack with only 10 fibres. Put stuff in it and then go into build mode, you can carry it around with R or whatever keybind you use to move furniture around. very handy if you are building a big house and the 200 lumber you just made just isn't in range of your farthest expension

I think you should also mention how players should destroy everything they can while in the realms. There are many hidden chests, and most things can be broken down for the resources. That includes crafting benches and I've even broken down the pipi box that was in Sylvans cradle. Don't forget to break down all the fae chests you find, they give good mats like gilded wood. The pipi box is located in the small NPC camp that is to the Northeast near the Little lake above the main village that's below the portal. I break down everything I come across, even crates, barrels, decor, lights and crafting benches Even if you don't like the way it looks afterwards you can always reset the realm. It will keep your story progression but replace all of the broken down areas. And then it still looks good
@RascallyRasmusАй бұрын
What a great tip! Thanks a lot! I generally tend to break crates and stuff and also search for the hidden treasures at the points of interest, but I've definitely not been good about making sure I break Fae Chests etc. Also good idea with the Pepys Box! Definitely gonna have to start breaking more stuff. And also a really good point with just resetting the realm if needed!

Even though you say you think they can fix the issues in a month it sounds like there's a lot of problems which have me kinda worried I guess it's mostly the bugs, especially the spawn bug and the grind the rest is quality of life features which can be fixed or improved post launch
@RascallyRasmusАй бұрын
If they can just solve all the major bugs I think we already have a solid game on our hands. The spawn bug especially can not be allowed to make it to launch. My only real worry in regards to bug fixing is how small the dev team is, but I still think it should be very doable as long as tracking down the culprit behind the various bugs don't end up being a monumental task. As for the grind the devs have stated that they will be tweaking some numbers before the next beta, so they seem to responsive to the community feedback - so I'm very curious to see what the changes will be there. And yeah I'm sure a lot of the systems will be improved significantly in the months after launch :)

@RascallyRasmusАй бұрын
Thanks for watching! Me too! Nice to hear it plays well on Steam Deck! I feel the best way to go about all the areas is just taking your time and playing them one by one initially - almost like separate little games in the game. As for animals - Either works really, so it's really just up to your personal preference. I don't think there's any benefit to using the barn over having them outdoors other than having all your animals gathered instead of spread. And same kind of goes for Silo/Autofeeder.
