My biggest problem with this game is unlike Terraria, it's large but mostly empty. The amount of inventory management you need to do is frustrating, no matter where you go you're always messing with dropping stuff for space. It lacks the quality of life items Terraria gives you to break down the monotony of inventory management (Biggy bank, void storage, auto deposit to nearby chests). I also with the crafting benches would pull from the chests without needing to be directly connected - perhaps even if we could chain the crafting benches at least.
@ThwipThwipBoom4 ай бұрын
You are correct about all this, however, mods will fortunately fix most of these issues.
@RascallyRasmus4 ай бұрын
All very solid points! Inventory management could definitely use improvements! Haven’t struggled too much with the crafting myself as I find that with only needing to keep the best workbench, anvil etc. and just scrolling through them to use older ones I can have like 90 % of the crafting machines I use frequently placed around my main storage. It would however still be a very big QOL if you could chain the crafting benches like you suggested. In general I’d just love to see way more experimental and fun things like in Terraria - including all the QOL items!

What i find impressive with the game is the size of 1.0 together with the preformance. the game is 600mb, while also packing so much content that it just feels weird. Like that big of a game can fit several systems, calculate so many things, while also having a huge map that you can fully change. Then also the amount of spritework that goes into the game and the dynamic waters and lighting. I would say that this game should be like 3gb large at least with the amount of content packed in, but it is so well optimized that it doesnt need that space. Then the preformance, it runs so smoothly, with the only exceptions of loading in alot of data at once, but thats just a 0.5 sec stutter and mostly comes down to my own hardware, and comparing that to other titles that almost gives up just because you placed one to many enemies in one area. This shows how much they have focused on the preformance and optimization of the game as well as the amount of content. It shows that games doesnt need to be big to be able to look great or have amazing content... And that AAA studios need to step up a notch if this is what they are competing against.

Great write-up! I 100 percent agree! The fact that the game runs smoothly on my laptop without a dedicated graphics card says a lot in itself.

The game has huge performance problems when your base gets bigger I recoment not buying the game you cannot even setup keybinds or lower graphics or animations for better performance on console I recoment play teraria it's way better performance no matter how many mobs you spawn or however you build it's never lagging

Oh yikes. That sounds bad. Out of interest - What console are you playing on? I agree that console players definitely should be able to change keybinds too!

the game doesn't feel worth playing with by yourself, especially when they advertise it as being able to be played with 8 people at the same time. playing it alone just feels like you're lacking a lot of fun
