Very nice! I love waffle stitch. What are the dimensions, please! The diameter of the base and the height? I want to make one as a gift, but I don’t have any ice cream pints. I crochet tightly, and need to know if I am on correct track with my gauge. Butter pecan is my favorite flavor.

whats the difference between tunisian crochet and only crochet?
@KickinCrochet
@KickinCrochet 21 күн бұрын
Tunisian crochet you pick up all the loops on the forward pass, then work them all off on the return pass. You are basically working half of every stitch then finishing them all instead of working one stitch at a time.

thank you very much, its really wonderfull i ve been in love with mosaic crochet but not overlay i dont like those tails and cut yarn every row... so your interlocking is a bless... i would like to know if is possible to make a clutch bag small with this square or if is too small ? thank you a lot .. i m gratefull
@KickinCrochet
@KickinCrochet Ай бұрын
This one might be a little big for a clutch as it is about 12" wide, but you could use a thinner yarn/smaller hook, or just stop making the square when it gets to whatever size you'd like...

Hi! Each square is about 12 inches (1 foot) wide, so it depends on what you want to do with it. If you want a blanket, you'll want to make multiple squares and then sew them together. I've seen people make pillows, bags, and even shirts from these squares!

:pvee Tunisian however, I am just learning all these variations of Tunisian Simple Stich. I believe I will try holding my yarn forward as you did but, picking up the stitch with a downward stroke. It may be too tight or it may work nicely to keep stiches closer together. Either way, thanks so much for your tutorials......I happened here because of the beautiful Jasmine Stitch.

Thanks so much for the clear explanation! I’ve seen these techniques in other videos, but wasn’t entirely clear on what each term referred to. Now that I can match the terms to the techniques, it’ll be easier to think about them and figure out which one to use when! I’m about to embark on a more ambitious color work project than I’ve ever done before, so wish me luck. If all goes well, a friend’s kid is gonna have the most awesome baby blanket ever made 😄

Btw, I don’t know if it even has a name, but I’ve seen and used a technique that’s sort of a hybrid between stranding and tapestry. You have a float, but catch it every 3rd stitch (or 2nd, or 5th, or whatever makes sense for the project). You’re more or less breaking a long float up into several smaller ones. It keeps long floats under control by tacking them to the wrong side, and it’s less visible than tapestry on the right side. Just another option that can come in handy.
@KickinCrochet
@KickinCrochet 3 ай бұрын
Good luck with your upcoming project! I hope it works out beautifully! And yes you can definitely catch floats in stranded colorwork - it makes it much easier to keep good tension, especially for wearables!

This is a very good book but is not what I expected, this book should be SPIRAL BOUND, I just finished making my book into a "notebook" as this makes it easier to flip through and does not close when looking through and trying to read the info( it should have been SPIRAL BOUND), I also tabbed some of the pages so certain things would be easier to find...Toni is a wonderful and fabulous designer and crocheter, love her enthusiasm....she is remarkable!!!

You can use either tunisian purl stitch or tunisian reverse stitch. They look a little different, so I encourage you to experiment. If I remember correctly, I used the purl stitch for this one (and sorry for the slow response!)

I love this pattern... but I am new and this video is WAY WAY too fast. Plus you can't really see what is being done. Maybe zoom in more or use a contrasting color behind what you are working on. I will come back to this when I have become more experienced, but for now I can't follow this. I will come back though... maybe next craft night at church someone can show me what is being done because I love this.

I have used Rainbow Cotton a lot, in all the sizes. I prefer the 8/4, and then 8/6. It's the only cotton yarn I'll use now. Particularly in the finer weights it is such a superior product. Ive made blankets, baby clothes, shawls, hats.

I love this so much. I really wanna ask, please can I know why you make two lovers knots in one chain and not one ? How does that change the project ?
@user-lv1ez7mg8v
@user-lv1ez7mg8v 2 ай бұрын
it’s to create the x shape - to have a single crochet “knot” in the middle of the two loops as well as at either end, to work into on the next round and create the x shape. If you did one knot every time it would be the same pattern every row - with all the single crochets stacked on top of eachother and the loops stacked (which i guess you could do? i could imagine that also looking cute). hope this wasn’t too complicated ahaha

I love this pattern, and I am excited to make it. I'm a little confused by a couple of things. On the written, and here, you say 10 rows before starting the band. Are you 1) counting the foundation row as a row and 2) regardless of if that row counts as one or not, how do you get 10 rows when you repeat pattern 4x after 1x of the repeat =2 rows? I get 6 rows and if I count the FR 7. Do I do 3/4 more or stop at the 6/7 rows? Your explanation is great and I found it not to be too fast, but I have been doing this style for years. I also find pausing and rewinding helps if I didn't catch something the first time.
