I'd actually been trying to distract myself from a more disturbing show my wife was watching while I was cooking dinner, so I was already in a scattered mindset and wasn't expecting it. Once I paused and refocused, I was fine. I still love the show. The gulping blood sounds notwithstanding.

Yes, but just a bit. I write my GM lines for important scenes, and sometimes the boys will redo a turn if we need to get a "clean take". Occasionally I will do some ADR in post-production to help keep the pace of the show going or to correct mistakes. Other than that it's all improvised and played mostly normal (some house rules have been established to help ensure clean recordings).

Assuming you mean the house rules we use to help recording, it's mostly simple things like "Always say roll results out loud". It's very easy to get too comfortable with the visuals of the VTT and forget that we're making primarily audio-based content - reacting to rolls without telling the audience the result is the most common example. Another one is "Say your character's name at the beginning of your turn", because it helps the audience know a new turn is starting. It also makes the show flow better by cutting down on the GM saying "Now it's [blank]'s turn" all the time.

@phantom_of_romance1945 I think the crew didn't have more than one weapon on the ship before this, so only one gunner was possible. But now that they have the missile launcher, Mishka or Navessah could forego their usual actions to act as an extra gunner. At least... I think that's how it works... *furiously flips through the rulebook*`

@@DiceVersa Yes you are correct, every turn in Starship combat there are 4 phases as I believe you know. In Phase 0 (or Phase 1 however you wish to number it) players can choose the role they wish to fill on the ship as long as the complement allows it and yes Gunners have no limit to the amount of crew members that can use it, granted there is a weapon for each of the players. The only positions that have a limit to 1 crew member is the pilot and the captain. I know you don't use Foundry for your games but I think it's possible to do this for Starship combat in Roll20. I built a light up button with each of the phases written on them so all I have to do is click some sort of light button to show them what Phase is currently being played. If that will help you guys in your games (of course if its possible to even create that) then go ahead (: I do like making Starship combat as easy as possible and as flowy as possible.
