I've watched the double legend of shen li and princess royal really enjoyed all 3 but princess royal was the best still to watch the others but heroes definitely next thankyou 💯

"Historical Dramas"... starts with FOX SPIRIT MATCHMAKER... Perhaps you do not quite understand what historical means, or your clickbait game is escaping off the charts, in a particularly bad way? Pro tip, do not clickbait like this with fake titles - because, if nothing else, you will lose viewers like me who don't like this approach - just say in this case "COSTUME" or fantasy etc... or say "historical and fantasy" but not just historical, that is plainly wrong and utterly misleading. Furthermore if you put both historical and fantasy in your title that might actually increase your reach... just make sure the title reflects the content, please.

I used the word 'Historical' in the title because: 1. KZbin limits titles to 100 characters, so there was no space left to add the word 'Costume.' 2. If you've watched the video, I clearly said: 'Today, I'll be showcasing the "Top 10 Best Highest Rated Chinese Historical Costume Dramas" of the first half of 2023.' 3. When I was talking about Fox Spirit Matchmaker, I clearly mentioned that it's a xianxia drama.

@@chinesedramalands Ok, I understand maybe I sounded too harsh... still the title does not reflect the content. I think the problem is how people tend to throw pretty much all fantasy content in "historically inspired costumes" under the historical tag, even when that content takes place in fantasy worlds, and not even on our historical Earth... Just tell me of the whole list, which one of those dramas could be properly categorized as truly historical? As someone with a history degree, I could say none... but maybe I am wrong... maybe I have become demented in my old age hehe. Anyway it is what it is, it's just unfortunate how nowadays words get divorced from their proper meanings.

Five out of ten ain't bad. That's the number of these dramas that I really enjoyed. Some of the others I left because either the story or the actors didn't hold my attention/affection. I also find myself not agreeing with the ratings. The Double is much too low should be more like 7.5 and Joy of Life Season Two should be a 9.

Lotus Casebook was way too good. Hard to top that drama. It wasn't your typical gaggy romance drama that gives you brainrot. The acting was superb, the story was heartbreaking and the bromance...was... 100%. Loved it.

Wow, you saw a lot more in some of these dramas than I did. Gave up on No. 1 as did not feel the CP between leads you did and thought her problem was ridiculous. Did not delve into FSM as have long given up on watching anything with Yang Mi. After a few episodes I found the The Legend of Heroes was too much to tackle despite the attraction of some of the male actors who took part. I did enjoy the Princess Royal for the leads and the complicated redo version of their lives. Missed out on Sword and Fairy 1 for some reason. The Double was outstanding in every way and one of the best dramas for years. Did not manage to find Hard To Find when it came out. Blossoms in Adversity was one drama that gave me the kind of heroine I crave so I enjoyed her battle for the survival of her family. Despite the faboulous leads in Heroes, I could not stick with the drama for more than six or so episodes. Anything one could say about Joy of Life 2 is inadequate to the joy this series has brought to a dedicated historical drama watcher. For me it's only three out of ten of your list.

I think 2023 was better comparing it to 2024. Close to ending the year and yet the most anticipating cd is yet to be released. Only few ones have been released.
