is that the standard fork , how do you turn it up to 160 ? Cheers . .
@BeachModeBiking
@BeachModeBiking Ай бұрын
It is the fork that came on the bike, I brought it to someone that works on suspension to have it serviced and have them change the air shaft to 160mm. You just have to purchase the new air shaft. Most forks can fit a couple different sized air shafts in them.

Do you think a strong intermediate but first time racer could run the sport category without log jamming/bottlenecking other riders race day? Is it a pretty chill event or would people get PO'd?
@BeachModeBiking
@BeachModeBiking 3 ай бұрын
Definitely!! Racers are released in 30 second intervals and if a rider comes up behind you, just pull over, let them pass, and that’s the beauty of enduro racing.

@@BeachModeBiking I mean they aren’t a stock item (according to Trek) and only built to order. I want to demo one before I shell out $6k but that seems like it’ll be very difficult since there are a grand total of 2 in my size within 500 miles of my house. I didn’t say they are lacking quality. Trek was kind enough to let me know I could spend about $1000 to go to one of their demo events though.

Thanks for posting - you'll have to pay another visit in 2024. A few miles of compacted fine gravel multi-use trails/access roads were added over the summer of 2023, and two new downhill trails are being finished currently (end of 2023). The new blue downhill (Woodpecker) is a fast, flowy progression jump line with some rock features. The new black downhill is definitely black and technical - lots of chunk, rockwork, and A new trailhead and lodge are being built next year on the north side, and navigation will be a lot easier with new maps and signs. 0:23 Cty Hwy N - north trailhead 1:21 "Creekside" 2:20 "Moo Moo Meadows" 3:43 "Flysaac Newton" 4:49 Lower "Fern Goblin", named for the rare Goblin Fern that grows at PB (did you cut because of mud?) 5:59 "Power Up!" (two-way, but designed as the uphill return for the DH trails) 8:07 Upper "Doe-See-Doe" 8:50 Most of the single track is groomed for fat biking. 9:02 Lower "Doe-See-Doe" 13:20 "Rock Bottom" 16:52 "Westward Flo!" - "Wildflower" was to the left 18:10 "Slinger" (two-way, but definitely better downhill; check out Strava segment for this trail) 20:19 Upper "Fern Goblin" (#19 indicates the intersection) www.trailforks.com/region/powers-bluff-53551/

Nice. So I have all analog mtbs, awesome bikes, I am in good shape, and I love shredding on them. But I am 52 and would love more energy for the fun features after our long climbs. Would you recommend this bike or would I never want to go back to a regular bike? Or would you recommend a full power to compliment the regular bike? The trek is so alluring to me though in its natural simplicity.

My opinion is: It depends on how long of rides you plan on typically going for, type of trails, how much you want your bike to weigh, and how much you want your bike to feel like your acoustic bike. If you’re going to use it on big burley enduro trails and will be going on longer rides, Rail, vice versa, EXe. If you don’t want to feel or sound like you’re on an e-bike, Exe.

I have the Trek Fuel EX 8 Gen 6. Sometime next year I plan to upgrade the suspension to factory. I'm a heavier guy so upgrading should be nice. Might keep the brakes as is which are SLX 4 piston. The drive train is XT and I'm probably going to keep that on there till I wear it down. Haven't been able to ride it much because the Heat wave for the past 5 months but it should be braking after tomorrow. We get down to the 80's and 70's. Been high 90's for the past 2 weeks and before that like 106 plus for almost 4 1/2 months.
