Yet another slop fest enduro for the LSGS this year. I was feeling pretty good in practice for everything other than Chunder Muffin, which I was only able to get one practice lap on and was super nervous to ride in the rain. On race day, Combo 3.0 rode more slick than I thought and Chunder Muffin had way more grip. I felt really off on Easy Rider, not being able to get grip to make corners, which forced me to be heavy on the brakes. At the bottom, I realized I forgot to unlock my rear shock.
For the morning stages, Combo, Jawbone, and Easy RIder, I wore the goggles and could not see very well at all. This made me feel like I was guessing a lot and going off feel. In the afternoon, Southern Cross, Flow, and Chunder Muffin, I ditched the goggles and opted for the “safety squint” eye protection. I felt like this made me ride a lot more confident being able to have much better vision. I just got lucky nothing got in my eyes really bad while riding.
Overall, I was pretty nervous coming into this race with the weather element, but I had a really good time practicing and racing in the rain with some good, fun, people!
Thanks for watching!
