Hey just a quick add on it wasn't only voice-acting, they did a lot of performance capture for the game. Roger Clark said the majority of their work on the game is performance capture and the VA was just around 10% of the work.

Star Fox adventures might be different. But in my opinion it's the best Star Fox game ever. It's literally my childhoods favorite, together with the Wind Waker and Twilight Princess (for the GameCube era ofc)

Of the two star fox games that I played (both the GameCube ones) I have to say, this game isn't bad, but I just didn't have too much fun with it. For a GameCube game it feels very outdated. What I can compare it to in my experience is that it has Ocarina of Time's flaws (and more) while not being as memorable or revolutionary. One thing I do remember is fox missing all of his shots on a cutscene on a close range enemy, and even though it is completely bs how he missed, I completely understand how he missed with the staff aiming controls.

To me, the worst Star Fox game is Star Fox Zero. As for Adventures, I see it as more of an old 3d Zelda rather than a Star Fox game. Fun to me.

Recently played this myself and it is the only Star Fox game I have played so far. Wasn't as bad as everyone was telling me it was while I was editing the footage. - "it is the worst Star Fox & a bad Zelda" - [ Never played either ]. I think if you stop comparing it and just accept it for what it is its not too bad.

0:33 this isn't actually the full story. After Star Fox 64, Miyamoto came to Imamura and suggested to have the next Star Fox game be an Adventure game. He went to work brainstorming ideas like having a 20 YEAR time skip, Peppy retiring, and Fox running around on foot with a blaster. Then Miyamoto was shown Dinosaur Planet and offered Rare the opportunity to turn DP into a Star Fox game which they did. The two teams merged along with its ideas. The time skip got shorten to 8 like we know, Peppy still retires, and do to lack of time couldn't give fox a blaster and originally toss krystal and give her sections to Fox. Imamura and Miyamoto liked her and basically took ownership of her and reworked her. There is an actual interview with Imamura that confirms this. So you would have gotten a Star Fox Adventures with or without Dinosaur planet.

I always liked the opening of Fox being so disinterested in Pepper and the problem; and then being very interested in the pay. It reminds us they are a merc company and I kinda dig that lol

Even as a kid I could tell something was a bit off about it, but I didn't care. It was my first game on the Gamecube and I enjoyed the hell out of it. You have to admit the graphics are fucking fantastic. Especially on things like character design and subtle details like facial expressions. The story was nothing special but who cares. Where the game was most lacking was in its combat. Whether it was on the ground or in space, something about the controls and actions didn't feel satisfying enough. If they just tightened up some of the movements I think this game could have been a total classic.

This wasn't the worst in the series. Nothing wrong with it at all. The next one was the worst one

I got stuck when it came to completing the temple of fear, and the game felt very half baked, like they had a lot of big ideas, but failed on the delivery, such a shame.

I loved this game, but I could never get past the challenge where you gotta mash the A button to progress the game. Not the boss fight, but an earlier challenge where you are trying to rotate some lever? And I was a gamer at that time, I wasn't some casual, and was still having issues. I had a friend told me he was only able to do it with a turbo controller, which I didn't have. I tried lots of tricks, but could never finish the game because I just couldn't mash through that part fast enough

I still think Star Fox Command is the worst.

12 year old me was so hyped for this game, and it absolutely delivered. I loved Zelda for n64. I loved Starfox for n64. I had just secured a gamecube. And I always loved dinosaurs. I was living the dream.

Good topic for video essay. This game was the first GameCube game I bought and was disappointed to see that we did not get any Ar-Wing action until the very end. Even that section left a bad taste in my mouth. I wish this game would have come out as its own stand alone title for the 64 like they planned to but slapping the Starfox name on it and have it be a day one title for the new hardware makes sense.

Didn't care to watch, but the title is wrong as Adventures brought in Krystal. Therefore it's an automatic B by default.
