Red Dead Redemption 2 is a modern day masterpiece. Hope you enjoy this quick video essay, a love letter of sorts, to one of my favorite video games of all time. Perhaps even my favorite. Red Dead Redemption 2 is that damn good. Please give me any and all feedback regarding this video, it took me awhile to put together. So, any constructive criticism is welcomed. Thank you for watching!

This game was released on my birthday, I was late to it due to not believing it would connect or compare to RDR. When I finally got around to playing it 2 years later it touched me like no other game has. With the story, gameplay, and audio just planting itself within you.

Rdr2 is the last game i bought new. I have just finished my 3rd play through and just "live" in the game sometimes. A true masterpiece of game making

Hey just a quick add on it wasn't only voice-acting, they did a lot of performance capture for the game. Roger Clark said the majority of their work on the game is performance capture and the VA was just around 10% of the work.

This game still to this day is one of the best digital media I've ever seen. Not out of video games... I mean, out of the entirety of all digital media. Rockstar struck GOLD... Nah... PLATINUM dude. The music... the art direction... the ambiance... the story... the gameplay... Holy shit bro. Pisses me off how good it actually is. Why? It'll be hard as fuck to keep digital media at these standards that this game set for me.

I've ride with Arthur and i died with Arthur. But Arthur died on top of a mountain and Dutch at the bottom of a cliff.....I've been playing games for more than 25 years now but this is the best story ever! If you have the time, replay it people!

Subscribed! Top tier editing and narrating for someone with only 104 subs. For the past 3 to 4 years, I've been trapped by the ruggedness and beauty of the Wild West, all thanks to my dad. Playing through RDR2, I admit, I rushed through it initially, missing so much depth. Yet, despite that, I've revisited the game three times already and now find myself immersed in my fourth playthrough. That's the magic of this game-it's a testament to its greatness. The narrative woven through RDR2 ranks among the finest Western tales I've ever encountered. Each time I play, I uncover new layers of its intrigue, makin me anticipate the day I buy and play RDR1. Arthur Morgan, a character I've come to admire, has imparted invaluable lessons of humanity and manhood. His journey, filled with heart-wrenching moments mixed with soul-soothing ones and even savage moment, has left an irreversible mark on me. Through him, I've learned to respect the complexity of every character, regardless of their actions, a testament to the game's superb character development. The thrill of hunting, particularly tracking down legendary animals and conquering the 90 challenges, remains my favorite pursuit within the game (hell i haven't even finished them lol) . It's a testament to the game's attention to detail and immersive world-building. Now, about Micah-a character whom I can't help but acknowledge with a sliver of human-to-human respect, though his disgusting murderous ways made me take back a bit of it. While some debate his role as the rat within Dutch's gang, I stand firm in my belief that Dutch embodies the snake (lies, deceit, selfishness, narcissism, hypocrisy, betrayal) , while Micah is the rat (sinful, disgusting, cowardly). Some may say differently, due to the fact that Micah influenced Dutchs decisions (like a snake), but in the end its Dutchs fault for trusting a man he met in a bar 6 months prior, to THREE (Hosea, Arthur, John) of the people he called brother and son, whom had been with him for 15-20 years. I see Arthur as the buck, John as the wolf, both with their own flaws, but both redeemable. I also hold hope for Red Dead Redemption 3, maybe during the wild wild west, with a whole new character or the Prohibition era. With Sadie, Charles, Jack, or whoever as the protagonist, I believe it would still make a great game.

Thank you so much!! I'm happy to hear you love RDR2. I've only played through it twice. First time was when it initially came out and the second time was last fall. I'm sure when I play it a third time, I will enjoy my time with it just as much. You haven't played RDR1?! I definitely recommend you do ASAP. It's aged a bit in some aspects, but I think it's still an incredible experience. And yes, here's to a RDR3. Who knows what's really in store for a third game in the series.

@@coffeeDNAx I find every new game i load, i see something new, rdr2 is one of those games you never get tired of. I havent played rdr1, probably due to the fact i was only 2 when it came out, and i wanna finish Bully and Gta 5 first, and then buy another R* game.

No, no more redemption. I want a red dead revolver 2 or just another red dead game without a redemption storyline.
