So we`re constantly reading that there was no good quality filming of the Lamb tour. If so, what are we looking at, at 31:06 and 31:57, with the very short Slipperman and In the Cage footage ? 8mm footage with no audio or clips of some professional filming of a Lamb show. I`m not saying that a complete show was filmed in totality but I think that about 45 minutes worth of one show was filmed. Apparently some German guy had gotten permission to do so. Would love to know if anyone else has any idea as to where these good quality excerpts came from. Very intriguing. I don`t know if the Genesis Museum has ever looked into this.

In 1986, Peter Gabriel and Genesis performed a one-off reunion concert as a benefit to raise funds for Gabriel after a commercial failure with a world music event. The concert took place at London's Hammersmith Odeon between September 28-30, 1986.

You're right about the reunion, but you're off by a few years. The reunion show was at Milton Keynes in October 1982.

Bio of the English rock music Group named Genesis Answer Genesis is an English rock band formed in 1967 at Charterhouse School in Godalming, Surrey. Here's a brief overview of their biography: Formation and Early Years: Founding Members: Originally, Genesis was formed by Peter Gabriel, Tony Banks, Mike Rutherford, Anthony Phillips, and drummer Chris Stewart. Early Style: Their initial music was steeped in progressive rock with complex arrangements, influenced by classical music and literature. Albums like "Trespass" (1970) showcased this style. Peter Gabriel Era: Success: With Peter Gabriel as the lead vocalist, Genesis released seminal albums including "Foxtrot" (1972), with hits like "Supper's Ready," and "The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway" (1974), which was Gabriel's last album with the band before his departure in 1975. Theatrical Performances: Gabriel's elaborate stage costumes and theatrical performances were a hallmark of this era. Phil Collins Era: Leadership Change: After Gabriel's exit, drummer Phil Collins took over as lead vocalist. This transition led to a shift towards more pop-oriented music while still maintaining elements of prog rock. Commercial Success: Albums like "A Trick of the Tail" (1976) and "Wind & Wuthering" (1977) were well-received, but it was "Duke" (1980) that marked their breakthrough into mainstream success with songs like "Turn It On Again." Mega Hits: The 1980s brought them massive commercial success with albums like "Abacab" (1981), "Genesis" (1983) with hits like "That's All" and "Mama", and "Invisible Touch" (1986), which included several chart-topping singles. Later Years and Hiatus: Phil Collins' Departure: After the "We Can't Dance" tour in 1992, Collins left for a solo career, though he briefly returned for the "Calling All Stations" album in 1997, which was less successful. Reunions: Genesis has reunited several times for tours, notably in 2007 with Collins, Banks, and Rutherford, and in 2020 for "The Last Domino? Tour", announced to be their final one. Legacy: Influence: Genesis' influence on progressive rock and their evolution into pop-rock has left a lasting legacy in music. They've been recognized for their complex compositions, storytelling in lyrics, and their ability to adapt over decades. Awards: They've received multiple awards, including induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2010. Genesis has not only shaped the landscape of rock music but also demonstrated how a band can evolve musically while retaining core elements of their sound and identity.

The first album i ever heard was Abacab, then I heard Duke , then A trick of a tail, the first track of Gabriel I heard was Watcher of the skies, when Peter Gabriel broke out with the Abum So in 85, that's when I realized he was the first singer, I thought it was phenomenal, then I bought Selling England by the pound, loved it.

From Genesis to Revelation has some decent songs, and was quite an achievement for some 18 year old school kids. Jonathan King’s production was atrocious, and he’s still a pompous windbag. Moving to Charisma Records was the best move for them, and slowly they took off.

I agree but not because I think Gabriel couldn’t front a pop band (So is proof he could make a hit pop album). I think pre-three piece Genesis had too many cooks in the kitchen, creatively speaking, but when reduced to a three piece band, they were able to become more focused.

@@newzebulon5313 Agreed plus, had they gone the more pop route With Gabriel, the fans certainly wouldn't have accepted it. Whereas with a new lead singer it was accepted. Just as Gabriel outside of Genesis was accepted. I think they stars aligned as they should have to assure success for both parties

I actually think they would have been an even bigger band more in the Pink Floyd vain. Remember Pete Gabriel didn’t disappear into obscurity forever after he left the band. He is a superstar in his own right.
