Interesting thought, I'm not sure and honestly I'm not sure what my assumption would be either if it have to sync before pushing the changes from table to table or not. Might have to look into this next week, let me know if you beat me to it .

This never shows the final result. Does the slice save in a new tab in the datasheet? Does this only affect a certain view? What is a slice used for? You've only shown that a slice is a filter, essentially, but you didn't show how it's used.

What is the syntax if there are multiple conditions. In your example, i want to select user_email when user_role is "Admin" and user_dept="Sales" (assume user_dept is another column).

You would nest an AND function inside of the second parameter of the SELECT function. In the AND function just separate your logical statements by a comma. Like: SELECT(Users[Emails], AND([user_role]=“Admin”,[user_dept]=“Sales”))

Hi, please could anyone help, I have created an app (my god it isn’t easy) any how, I have 10 identical vehicles and I have created a spreadsheet for each in sheets, each vehicle having a different serial number. I have then created an app in app sheets but on some of the options I have created drop down menus e.g. different drivers, different, destinations, different jobs etc. Now rather than repeating the data input for each vehicle, can I just duplicate each app and then just change the name of the app to the serial number I want- It’s the drop-down menu inputs that I do not want to manually fill in, it will take me an age…..any help greatly received. Thanks.

For sure, I'll use a 'Users' table as an example: - A Slice, what I used here, creates a filtered instance of a a table with a separate name that you query in an expression and use to power views. This means the original table goes unaltered and contains all of the other users. - A Security Filter, rather filters what records are synced into the app. This expression applied to the Users table's Security Filters would make it where the only record in the User table is the 'current user'. Conclusion: If you want a user to have the ability to see other users you'd go for the Slice route, but if you want no users' records to be brought into the app other than the current user's you would put it in the security filter. Let me know if you have anymore clarifying questions? Pinning this question because it is a natural stream of thought from the idea of this video, thanks for asking.

The tutorial cannot be followed after time 20:33. As others have mentioned, when following your steps exactly there is nothing showing after the "Order Description" form field: the section beginning with the text "Line items entries that reference this entry in the Order ID column" and the "New" button that follows are not present. You must have performed some steps offscreen that were not covered in the tutorial. Very frustrating for new users.

Thanks for this. Wish you would have started at the beginning of App Creation (you had some things already set up) and remove your head bubble so we could see the breadcrumbs for View and Table at the bottom of the preview, as well as seeing where you clicked. Great that you shared the app so we can reverse engineer some things, but frustrating when we can't follow along exactly.
