It is definitely easier to get into it the more you do it. First time I was like when is this gonna end - second time I was like - wait, its over?!

Tomorrow is my first float. Very handy video this. I'm kinda nervous, but also very curious. Only problem is I keep thinking about Pennywise telling me "we all float down here". I never should have watched that movie.........

Trip report, first session yesterday : I am recovering from general anxiety around water due to past trauma and also a fear of the dark (again I'm recovering from several past traumas there too) - and these things definitely meant it took me longer to acclimatise to full sensory deprivation. I ended up using a pillow type float thing because my neck got sore (which apparently is quite common) and got fully settled about half way through my alloted hour. When I got settled, wow. My experience here was purely physical but nothing prepared me for how *solid* the water feels once you have become stable and calm. I would describe it as a marble table which 100s of artisans spent months carving and smoothing to match every millimeter and gram of my physical body. Then I realised that when I tried to sense my arms, it felt like there were none, there was only the water. Soon after this a sense of profound peace descended on me. Unfortunate my hour was up at around exactly this time but I'll go back again. Since then I've been feeling light as a feather and mood is greatly improved. Recommend for anyone, if I can do it, so can you!

I went for the first time and it was honestly pretty scary! I am not sure if I am the only one like this, but found it hard to relax, hard to sit in pitch black (I would have to crack the door open just a little to see some light, and not knowing how to turn my thoughts off...There were moments where I felt good and weightless like a relaxing feeling. There was someone next to me who started screaming out of nowhere (maybe some trauma came up for her)....my husband was pretty calm during his but also mentioned it was relaxing but didnt feel life changing like some people describe. Perhaps you have to go many times to experience the magic people are talking about? I am definitely open to, but wondering if I did anything wrong in my experience. My earplugs also kept falling out, and I was very distracted by my own breathing through my nose and sometimes felt I couldnt breathe right bc when youre floating with ears plugged the air doesnt flow as well. I'm also overweight so maybe this is why too? Either way I am glad I went floating and will try it again! Just wanted to document my experience.

The cult of Mithra used a similar situation (floating) to instantiate an altered consciousness. Floating in a saline solution at near the human body temperature can precipitate the surreal by dissolving the illusion of barriers. People always think they want to come upon it. But they actually don't. They want to be entertained, enter Netflix, not come face to face with oblivion. Coming face to face with the loneliness that g-d must have felt, a tremendous pressure, that lead to the creation of all things, yet nothing actually exists. All is illusion. So when you approach that reality it can make it very unpleasant to continue without escaping.

I totally agree with the customer service aspect of the Zen team. I had to put mine in my garage in Florida and they were a huge help. I have fibromyalgia and I bought it for primarily pain relief. It changed my life. I float every other day in the privacy of my home and if you think the cost is high try to afford 180 floats per year plus time to and from a commercial float center. I also don't have one near my home. They have just announced a rigid body tank on kickstarter and after 4 years I do need an upgrade from the tent. My garage was not as kind an environment as in the house. Next one lives in the house! I would not hesitate to work with this company again and the new tank seems to have solved all the bugs of the prototype. Genius and a lifesaver for me and my chronic pain.

It's wonderful that you have that option to relieve your pain! A treatment with no side effects, no addiction - well, maybe I went too far on that last part, because floating certainly can be :)

I've floated over 270 times. You should tell them that even with the earplugs in, you can hear the toxins "popping" out of their skin. I don't use the plugs anymore. I like to hear different music that I can replay when I'm in traffic or experiencing stress. When you hear the last songs on the CD (that played when you were in the tank for over an hour), your mind will "auto-relax" when those songs are playing. This is but one example of the power of the mind and the tank.
