My favorite part is how he talks about the weight brothers and it not working because it didn’t lol. They made a boomerang. Meanwhile Santos Dummont did make the first flying airplane

Idc what anyone says.. I love this ride. Its a nice lil wholesome ride and I love learning about the environmental stuff and about agriculture. Also fun fact: Its not a buffalo, its a bison. Bison live in America while buffalo only live in Asia and Africa.

I love this ride so much! Hearing about the wait times is really crazy...I went to Tokyo Disneyland/Disney Sea for the first time mid/late August, and the first thing I noticed was that I felt like it was a lot less crowded at Tokyo Disneyland than it is at our Disneyland or Disney World. My husband and I did choose a Tuesday and Wednesday, and school there had recently started (which played into when we planned the trip as well), so those might have been factors as well. The whole day we didn't wait for any line longer than 45 min. (Disney Sea did have longer wait times than Disneyland though.) We didn't even rope drop this ride, we chose Beauty & the Beast first because I knew it was so popular (we may have premier/priority accessed that, I don't remember), I don't remember exactly but I think we didn't get a pass for Pooh's Hunny Hunt. I'm a Disney and theme park sicko also though, so I did plan a lot. Like Ryan, I also create an itinerary, so that probably helped as well. I believe we did this ride second, but like I mentioned we didn't rope drop it, and we even dilly-dallied in front of the castle for a while taking pictures before we hopped on any rides. So I'm pretty floored that only a little bit later the wait times for Ryan were super long!

I just did a USF trip and rode this again right after riding Fast & the Furious for the first time. Really had me thinking about what makes a good (or bad) screen-based dark ride-- pacing, writing, integration of irl sets and props. Spiderman is definitely the best of the best in that category, though for me Transformers comes pretty close.

One thing I love about this podcast/show is that it makes me appreciate rides that I, personally, think are mid. I think It's A Small World and Spider-man are pretty mid (i loved it that one time as a kid but not much the second time because it was the USJ, non-updated version) but i really love hearing why these rides are so good to you and why their history is so important/monumental.

I wonder why they chose scream as a villain and not someone more familiar who was in the cartoon. Also why didn’t they do 6 villains and make it the sinister six.

I thought I heard that Steven Spielberg has a contract with Uni that while he is alive, Uni has to keep the ET ride. Or did I make this up?? 😂

It is funny about the Hollywood test that the wikipedia has a Jim Hill sourced In Other Media of "In the 1970s, a planned feature film was going to be a Cold War-tinged comedy adventure where the children of UN leaders try to get their parents to stop squabbling through faking mass-kidnapping, only for a war profiteer to try to take advantage of the fear and start a mass conflict." While there was an attempt, I still think it fails because it's such a stretch AND they scrapped it.

I always love looking for source footage and source material of queue line audio and video. I have been searching high and low for the full animated source footage of what is seen in the wait line for this ride. It’s practically a pilot for an entire animated series.

I thought the Pokemon rumor of Pokemon replacing Spiderman was for the Universal Japan version, not Islands of Adventure. The Orlando rumor for Pokemon was for the Simpsons area. Also, Universal isn't spiting Disney by keeping Marvel in Islands of Adventure. As you noted, a good portion of the park becomes hard to access or in need of being replaced if that section is closed. Losing it would be a major problem for Universal and they don't even need to lose it so it. Acquiring Marvel rights is Disney's problem, not Universal's.

The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man is my favorite ride and also ET I have try to go on both every time I go. What I would change is simply reskin hob goblin to green goblin.

Ryan! If you like the music, listen to the ride pre refurbishment. I believe it is a superior track, and there is a part right before you encounter hob goblin, where there is a rockin guitar riff, which is now filled with just silence. The end scene was also had a amazing riff when you exit your vehicle.

Some very surprising reactions here. My mom was completely unfazed by the swinging gondola and she's the family 'fraidy cat. She was legitimately TRAUMATIZED by Expedition Everest and flatly refused to ever ride Splash Mountain.

I’ve been to universal 2 times in June and both years the weight time was around 40 mins. One year had single rider the other had fast pass. I still think it’s fairly popular enough to keep going

the 2019 having really high waits might be because (to my understanding) that was the year that universal saw its highest attendance numbers ever. so it's plausible that dead of summer it was definitely that busy.

Comparing this to transformers is wild. If you look at only the individual elements, transformers should have it beat, it has a version of everything spiderman has, and some other stuff, but none of it is executed nearly as well.

I went on this on my first and only USO trip a few years ago and kinda was like eh it's fine... But this is day 2 after being on the 100 others of this exact ride at Universal, and other parks. It was good but wasn't like THE ride at the top of my list. Breaking down the history and it being the first one of its kind, I'm definitely going to go back to it with much more appreciation. Also the queue was my second favorite queue, after Velocicoaster. Thought it was amazing, though JJJ was bugging me because I couldn't put my finger on why the voice was so familiar... But I heard bits of Krusty the Klown come through to realize it was Dan Castellaneta

Little late listening but yes Dollywood has its rides open during Christmas! The park has an internal thermometer that has to reach around 42 degrees (Fahrenheit) to open them. My boyfriend and I got to ride thunderhead in the snow obviously wasn’t cold enough for a full on snow but still cool to ride in a little flurry!

Re:The Leslie Stahl test... I'm local, and I can remember the days when TAASM was almost consistently around a 60 minute wait. This was back before Velocicoaster, Hagrid's, or even the Harry Potter land itself. I think the fact that it's <30 mins nowadays isn't a detriment to the ride, but more due to the fact that IoA has so many more rides and experiences now. TAASM can be overlooked, but definitely shouldn't be. Great show as always, gentlemen!

I know you guys brought this up later in the video, but I think it's worth considering a rewording of the Simpson Test to account for attractions that could be or have been replaced for reasons outside of the attraction's control, and in part making room to have a debate on it. I think this is both a better measurement, and also makes for more discussion. Horizons is commonly considered among Disney Parks fans to be the best ride they ever made and the leading theory for its removal is that there was a sinkhole beneath the building. It'd be docked a point due to that, which isn't really a fault on the ride itself.
