I’ve always felt like the darker theming in the UK was a budget thing, with Merlin having a lot less to work with than Disney, they’ve consistently leaned into theming that feels industrial or dilapidated, as this doesn’t need to look “good” to be effective, and presumably upkeep is easier on an area that’s intentionally in a state of disrepair.
@thebup6850Ай бұрын
That really stings, mostly because it’s true
@rattyeelyАй бұрын
There are a lot of low-budget theme parks in the US too, but they usually go for garish colorful Americana themes, so it's got to be something else. Maybe it's having that big spooky tower on the grounds

I have never been on this ride, but inverts are my favorite style coaster. Montu being the best ive been on. Its crazy that a ride originally built in 1994 is still up there as far as overall experince on a rollercoaster. There was 35 years from the matterhorn being built to this ride, and this ride is now 30 years old, and it still holds up to any modern new ride.

Regarding SubTerra being the pre show, the issue with that is the restraints used on SubTerra are the most restrictive in the entire park (they even note this in the pre-ride warnings). Given that Nemesis has a dedicated seat for riders with larger body dimensions, it would exclude a lot riders. Also as someone who loves thrill rides and coasters but has severe anxiety, anything with live actors out to scare me would just stop me from riding my favourite coaster of all time.
@DestinyStellaNoxАй бұрын
Hex: Legned of the Towers is absolutely the ride Ryan would like, based on a local legend with the Earl's family and the curse. The G's used to be higher on the original version of Nemesis at 4G's. The water also was coloured red in the original version to be the alien's blood, it lasted for a good while. I remember it being red early 00's.

Please go to Cedar point this summer and let me know when you are going so I can be there. I can tell you where all the old rides used to be and what they got replaced with. It is such a gem of a park. Bigger than the magic Kingdom. It’s got a lot of old charm to it. Come ride top thrill 2 when it reopens. I’m so sad I missed the previews before it suffered technical difficulties because it looks even more amazing now and I didn’t think that coaster could be topped, other than King da Ka (RIP).

The best part of Nemesis is the exit of the first inversion. Somehow the ride just suddenly feels like you're going SO FAST heading into the helix (which is forceful and gives foot tingles, no clue how Mike and Ryan didn't get much from it). From then on the ride feels out of control in the best way, it literally never loses flow or pace until you fly round the final corner into the brake run.

Another thing the developers may be thinking if considering onboard audio is copyright/licensing/royalties, like all of the rights needed to attain in order to play it in the park and in that setting and licensing renewal fees too. Maybe if they feel like onboard audio isn't necessary for ride, they wouldn't choose to have to deal with everything they would if they were to include onboard audio. An original score would have fees too, and if they had an original soundtrack at least with this ride, maybe they weren't interested in also including original music for additional onboard audio.

I’m from the UK and my family loves Air/Galactica and theme parks in general. However, my mum decided to take our theme park obsession to Six Flags Magic Mountain and after riding Tatsu (specifically that pretzel loop), she had to sincerely apologise to her tearful children and find the nearest exit of the park. Mum is no longer in charge of theme park trips.

In response to Mike saying his was the first themed thrill ride, I have to respectfully disagree. The OG Batman the ride DOES actually have quite a bit of theming - I believe it even won an award for it. Not sure if that carried over to the clones as much, but the one at Great America is actually pretty well themed, especially for a regional park.
