I just purchased the 46 (J3) that I took my very first ride in back in 1988. The gentleman has owned it since 1974. It’s been sitting outside and I’m bringing it home to do a full restoration just like you are going to do here. Looking forward to the videos!

Also, found out the hard way trying to get a blood stain out of raw wood that baking soda and vinegar will turn the wood brown. It was on a carving. Ended up having to carve it off but now I am intrigued by using baking soda to age wood. Interesting!

Hi, is that (before your mods) a custom landing gear or does some company make them? I need to come up with gears for a 60" electric built-up plane similar to a Taylorcraft. Yours has the look I'm after but I don't know how to fabricate one and having trouble finding an off the shelf product that's close. Thank you for any suggestions or sources. Jerry G

I tried this and it worked the first time. I added more steel wool and vinegar to the jar and let it sit even longer and now it’s not working. Should I get a higher percentage vinegar from the hardware store??
@ColeAviation3 ай бұрын
Glad it worked out for you the first time. I’m not sure what went wrong the second time. 🤔 If you mix it exactly like I have it the description it should work.

I wish I knew about these blue lines. I did mine with black iron. I'm afraid lines will rust quickly because of moisture. I don't want to spray oil because of my paint jobs. Btw I will try to clean my filter the way you did in other video (cost $75 nowadays)

What type of wood did you use for the water wheel? I can't find anything on what wood is fish safe
@ColeAviation5 ай бұрын
I used western red cedars. But the next one I do will be out of cypress. This one isn’t rotting or anything but the cedar is SLOWLY shirking.
@davidmartino14735 ай бұрын
@ColeAviation thank you! Did the cedar or oak hurt the fish at all or change the water color at all?
@ColeAviation5 ай бұрын
Not at all. I was worried about that as well when I first built everything. My pond looks totally different than this video now. 😂 It looks more natural. Fish are around 4-6 pounds and 16”-20” long. I need to make an update video on my pond. It’s beautiful. Everything is weathered really good.

Looks exactly like my first car in 1977, a gift from my mother. Same color red on red 2 dr '59 Impala only mine had the 283 powerglide automatic. Factory power steering, brakes & power seats. I just loved the car I drove it everyday everywhere. 2 years later I found another '59 2 dr. Impala with the 348 turboglide I paid $1375. I had one more '59 Impala 2 dr. in 1998 with the small block red on red same as my first car. By the 90's they were getting expensive I had to finance it.
