I don't remember which Ace combat it was because i didn't get very far in these games (i was bad) but i remember the mission just after being me and the crew shooting unmanned drones out of the sky and Talking about how it's a lot more Relieving because there's no humans getting shot down... But the mission just before that, Going in with my crew and Gunning as best i can, then i just hear: "... Those are people, floating in the waves..." Something about that haunted me and i can't quite explain it.

This would legit be a good trailer for the kind of game I want AC8 to evolve into, but it's probably a bit too esoteric to make enough sales/generate enough interest sadly. Would have to present it a less cool (imo anyway) way than this. XD

Writer: Well first off we're going to look at a house instead of an airport. Executive: Why a house? The last two Ace Combat games didn't show one. Writer: So then we meet Melissa Herman who's supposed to be helping her daughter Matilda but is too attached to her book so she doesn't. Writer: Well shortly after Matilda goes to school, Melissa starts talking to us about the city and Gracemeria Bridge which is the Pride of Gracemeria and then after that she starts talking about the castle which is where Matilda is going on a field trip and is also more famous than the bridge. Executive: If the castle is more famous than the bridge, how come the bridge is the Pride of Gracemeria? Writer: I don't know. Executive: Fair enough. Executive: Makes you wonder if the Emmerian Military does background checks on anyone before they let them in the military. Writer: It really does. Executive: So then what happens? Writer: So then Talisman and Shamrock liberate Gracemeria and take out Pasternak. Executive: Who's Pasternak? Writer: My excuse to have a rival in the game. Executive: Oh okay. Writer: So then the tank crew gets to the bank which is actually the castle. Executive: What's in the castle? Writer: Some kids, one of them being Matilda, Voychek, and the statue of the Golden King. Executive: Oh how sweet. Writer: Then later that night while the Garuda team is on patrol as the fireworks go off, we learn that Shamrock's wife and daughter were murdered by the Estovakians. Executive: Ouch, talk about ruining a heartwarming moment. Writer: I know, right. So then the Estovakians attack Gracemeria again, this time using the Chandelier. Executive: What's Chandelier? Writer: So then the Emmerian air force head over to Sonne Island to take out the Chandelier and Melissa manages to get in contact with them. Of all the planes, in my opinion, the Raven Falken and Fenrir are the most powerful in the entire saga.

This man knows what's up, the PSP ones, even Joint Assault I believe, especially with modern day access to co-op on PC and current consoles, would be a huge upgrade. Though yeah, as someone who started with X Skies of Deception (the 1st psp one), that one would amazing in a more modern engine. (Or at the very least, from what I've read, give the branching paths (and consequences system related), a more modern go. Have only played the 2 PSP ones and 7, but would be interested in the Wingman system as well as some of the allied support and other systems unique to 6, to get another go. (I haven't played the others, might with emulation, but just from my experience in reading up and play, the potential for iteration is through the roof.)

If the story is bad.. then the whole game is sunk. In a video game where there is no protagonist everything else needs to fire on all cylinders… even if the mechanics were smooth the levels were overwhelming and almost like a chore tbh
