I feel for the Riker, who pleaded for help, claiming they were one of the last Federation ships. I guess the other ships' captains must have been horrified to learn the Borg had assimilated the Federation.

In my opinion, either the Organians or the Q would have saved that other universe, possibly the Metrons too.

Almost makes you want to read the story of that universe. I'd imagine one small mistake led to Picard remaining assimilated. After Wolf 359, the Borg would continue to have a massive tactical advantage, even more so as they assimilated Starfleet Admirals and Federation officials. Earth would be completely assimilated. Being the heart of the Federation, the other members would fall. The Klingons, the Romulans, even the Cardassians would go down, probably last. Eventually, the Borg discover the Bajoran wormhole, conquering even the Dominion and most of the Gamma Quadrant. And, the Borg Queen and her King Locutus, now devoid of humanity and totally dedicated to The Collective, would travel the galaxy together, assimilating everything in their path. "Resistance is indeed futile my dear. Sphere 342. Vessel has 211 humanoids including 32 children. Assimilate all. Make it so!" Sorry. Got carried away.

This episode gave me nightmares as a kid. One of them was about me falling into a parallel universe where the Borg themselves were invading earth.

Riker has no mercy for the alternate-Riker from the Borg reality. Could act at least a little bit shaken. I really wanted some aftermath comment on it, anything, any short exchange of concern would do.

He says "what happened?" Like what do you mean? He must have forgotten about Admiral Hansen and his grainy subspace message during wolf 359. Apparently grainy transmit means ship is basically a shot away from destruction.

It’s ironic when you think about it - this was a prequel with a prototype engine, but it was arguably the most stable warp engine in Starfleet history. It was the only ship that could sustain maximum warp for months on end without structural breach. It was *the* Warp 5 engine. Voyager had a top speed of 9.975 but could only hold it for a minute or two before shaking apart.

Presumably the Enterprise C is also there somewhere. I could imagine a timeline where the Enterprise C never gets into the situation that leads to its destruction in the first place, and the klingons find peace another way. Afterward, the ship avoids being decommissioned long enough to take part in this scene. Wolf 359 would be quite different. Or maybe it never happened.

Shouldn't it be "the Borg ARE everywhere" then again, they've plenty of mistakes in the show with Data using contractions, even though he's supposed to not be able to. Also, Is there a way they know in the show to open a portal to a parallel universe? It seems the ones we've seen have been accidents like DS9's crossover, etc. They could escape to another universe a different way than stopping the shuttle from bringing them back

You know something sad about that enterprise that got destroyed? Even if Worf traveled through the time and they didn't die... It doesn't matter, eventually they got assimilated by the Borgs. :(

i miss this era so so much. the only thing i dislike about the new trek is it's not set in a post ds9 era. Picard was great but the federation doesn't feel right anymore, it's natural, but feels colder. I miss the tng cast so much.
