I'm also young guy and I spent three months on Grindr, few things I perceived on Grindr are lonely and untrustworthy guys on that fuckin app, selfish and sexual promiscuous and also extremely picky and fickle men on that app who are solely looking for casual hookups, so for someone like me who is just looking for a long term friendships Grindr is utterly a toxic and mental ruining app.

Sulphut Crested Cockatoos - they sound like Godzilla. Very intelligent, 95% are left footed, grasping fruit etc with their left claw while standing on the right. Make friends with them or they will wreck your house.

Like most cities, living in the right area is essential. Bondi, Centennial Park, double Bay, Potts Point, Neutral Bay. Arriving as a 9 year old in 1964 we spent the first 2 years at Bondi Beach before my parents bought a house in Birrong. (No one knew of it) 40 minutes from the city and deadly in summer. No sea breeze no air con. It was pure Aussie but now a migrant enclave. I visited the opera house during construction and the tallest building was the AMP at 25 floors. I watched Sydney go from a sleepy backwater to international super star. I’ve also lived in Melbourne, Perth, Canberra, Hobart and now London. I get sentimental about Sydney but the humidity is unbearable for me. 12 years back in London and unless you stick to the right areas, London has changed so much. The cost of living outrageous and the Islamic take over intolerable.

Cockatoos are awesome. How many other cities have giant parrots as part of the landscape? Your ears will adjust in another year or so. The rental market, however...

This from someone who has a roof over their head. Having somewhere to stay for a newbie in a city is a big deal even if u dismiss it as a whinge. How pompous of u. He even mentioned its dearer than many other places he's traveled including London! that's saying something. Ok i know what you're going to say u used the word justifiable, yes its a justifiable point he makes but certainly not a whinge.

Mate I lived in KwaZulu Natal and in Mozambique for nearly 3 years there are plenty of cockaroaches and other bugs there as well unfortunately insects like the warmer climates. Look on the bright side at least the chances of you getting Malaria are pretty remote here. As an Aussie I love the sounds of our birds (including the cockatoos) as well as all the other sounds of the bush if you dont then maybe Australia is not the place for you. I suggest that you never head out the city because those sounds will be multiplied many times over. Getting a little tired of people coming here and criticizing everything if its so good where you come feel free to stay there.

Sydney is the 2nd largest city spread out area in the world. As one brit said to be when he woke up with and heard a Cockatoo 1st time. He said it was like prehistoric times and its a pterodactyl you could hear. 😂

I always liked the sound of cockatoos. And cicadas. And kookaburras. I miss the sounds of a Sydney summer. Now imagine living in London and being awoken by foxes getting frisky in the middle of the night. Every time you have to pause and think... Am I 100% sure that isn't the sound of a child being murdered? Because it definitely sounds like it is, and perhaps I should call the police. But no, it's always foxes, even if you're never quite certain.
