Problem is: GamersNexus is very afraid of the LTT LAB because it would make his job obsolete. They can test more, in less time and in a broader amount of situations and show it in a very simple to digest explanation. GN needs an hour per review with way too much detail for 99% of viewers to get his point across, and people will think "lots of text must mean he knows stuff". Which he does, but it doesn't mean people will understand. Louis was very useful for Right to Repair. But he's been overtaken by other advocates and did not evolve. Basically Nvidia is the biggest producer on the market, sells lot of GPUs, so it's profitable to cut corners on the hardware, like putting 8Gb on RTX 3070, and focusing on single big cost of developing software and architecture. AMD and Intel sell less GPUs, so the big investment on software would spread between fewer chips. They make up with hardware.

So if a 1 2 or 3 Ai generated frames tucked in bwetween two renderd frames is not "Fake Frames" What is it then? If Ai can accurately predict what the next frame should be Why even call it Ai Generated frame?. To me this is getting into the teritory of scams and all the 50 series cards are doing it.

The excuse for the price hike was "chip shortage" well the shortage is gone why the prices still increase this much yearly? Nvidia has abandoned real raw performance for DLSS. 5090 is all fake frames aswell. The 4090 was also all fake frames. Nvidia went from making raw power to only fake frames. We have entered and era where the 1700 dollar flagship cannot handle 4k native without DLSS and upscalling.

DLSS also doesnt work in all games and use cases, not that it matters more then half of the time it looks like shit anyways. the problem is that thanks to nvidias blatant false advertising and misleading marketing people are going to buy the new 5070 expecting huge performance and they will be let down if their game doesnt support DLSS, such as DCS in VR. if nvidia clearly stated that they are comparing a 4090 without DLSS to a 5070 with DLSS cranked to the absolute maximum it would be ok, but they dont because they know that it benefits them

It’s not that flagship GPUs owe us their full performance. The real issue lies with game developers and publishers, who owe us proper optimization. We should not accept DLSS, FSR, and frame generation as the new standard-these are graphics hotfixes, not real solutions. Yes, frame generation and upscaling can increase FPS and improve playability, but we have to ask: Why do modern games still look the same-or worse-than 5-8-year-old titles that were properly optimized? Where could flagship graphics be today if the same effort was still put toward optimization? Developers and publishers are OF COURSE happy to embrace AI upscaling and frame generation, because it SAVES THEM MONEY. Think of that every time GPU manufacturers and game tycoons try to "hype you up" for a brand-new tech, its PRIMARILY not for YOU its for THEM. Why would they spend time and resources on optimization when they can rely on some technology instead? But are we seeing a cheaper price tag or more deeply polished storylines in games as a result? Nope. The results are only allocated to the pockets of the publishers and NVIDIA for gatekeeping the tech and making it usable only on their hardware. Or the Gen Z TLDR: STOP GLAZING NVIDIA and start BLAMING the devs whos GAMES cant run without "fake frames"! And that would be my opinion if DLSS worked perfectly with no visual impact… But that is not the case. Since it fakes the intermediate image, it does not know what is behind objects. As long as you’re standing still or in slow-moving scenes ( like in all the FANCY Trailers and demos they publish), it looks amazing-but the moment you turn fast, drive fast, or fly fast… It becomes a blurry mess! This is the same issue TAA had, but in my opinion, DLSS due to the is much worse, due to upscaling (which cannot add details that weren’t there to begin with), it was already a blurry mess BEFORE adding the " frame smoothing" It reminds me of the trend from a few years ago-if a game had jagged frames, the “fix” was to slap a ton of motion blur on it. Now, we have a more advanced version of the same problem. I'll give credit where it’s due-DLSS blur is not as bad as traditional motion blur-but it still doesn’t look or play as smooth as a native, fluid game. but i remember how SEVERLY the Gamer community PUNISHED Studios who relyed on that... now with DLSS they are "GLAZED THE F** UP"

Got a 4090, and im not even playing with dlss 3.0 anymore. Some stuff looks a lot worse. Small detail like fences or palm leaves, looks all blurry or mashed out. It almost feels like setting all graphic settings to low. Frame regen is nice, but many games are not using it. Im getting a new CPU instead, and wait for 6090.
