Following H.P. naming logic, I'd reckon the screaming book was named "Screamson Scribes Screaming Script." Worst change offense(imho) was building up the world cup in GOF, then completely excluding it... WTF!

24:50 Don't know where you're getting "induces insanity" from. Harry says he'd THINK he'd gone crazy because he's imagining how he'd react to seeing himself with no context. He's guessing. He's thinking either he wouldn't trust his senses or that something suspicious was going on. The past incidents mentioned aren't because of instant insanity from seeing yourself, they're probably from suspicion because there are OTHER ways to see a double of yourself. Someone probably went back in time to stop themselves from doing something, but the past self didn't understand, thought it was an imposter, and attacked. Or someone tried to directly save themselves like Harry did, but instead of dementors, it was a normal fight and they clumsily hit themselves. There is no implication that time travel drove people insane.

12:58 Harry and Ron's back and forth banner is like 75% of the books. Not to mention my favorite part. And I would like it back, PLEASE! Also the deep brotherly love between Ron and Harry along with Ron's entire book personality in general! And give back Hermione's flaws, no more Mary Sue! Just give me that HBO! I beg of you!

In the books, I found Hermione interesting. She worked well with Ron and Harry and could be funny. In the movies I found her absolutely insufferable. The WORST kind of know-it-all, that constantly highlighted and drew attention to Ron’s (film) stupidity. And worst of all she was a completely unfunny, serious, drama queen. The most egregious crime that resulted from this is, when I read the books now, I can only ever see Emma Watson’s overacting in my head.

7:13 Agreed. They need to take a note from Ghostbusters Frozen Empire. The balance between practical and cgi effects was perfect. It also didn't cost that much money to make, just saying!

3:09 He also stands up on a broken leg and SHOVES Harry behind him as if trying to shield him with his very body. They even gave that last bit to Hermione, too. And then later when he finds out about Peter, he stands again on his now splinted but still broken leg and growls for them to chain Peter to him. Yeah, hits a little different.

About the time turner is actually talked about in the Cursed Child. Yk even the smallest things could change the past in worst but also the best way possible. If the thing gets into the wrong hands tho there is no saying what awful stuff could happen. 😔

I mean, I'm over the franchise at this point. Not just JK being a transphobic piece of human garbage, but long before that she began ruining it for me just with the Twitter BS. Responding to every inquiry with some retconned nonsense and pretending like it was just like that the whole time. "Why are there no gay wizards?" "Oh have you never heard of this wizard called DUMBLEDORE?" and it's yes, we all know who Dumbledore is, but how are we supposed to know he's gay if you never told us and in fact have never mentioned it until RIGHT NOW? "Why are there no good Slytherin characters" "Oh have you never heard of blah blah?" and it's just like NO, WE HAVEN'T, YOU HAVEN'T TOLD US ABOUT THEM AND THEY WEREN'T IN THE TEXT. You don't get to act like you had it all mapped out when you omitted all of this in the first place. It's like, if you can point to where in the actual text you put that stuff and we were just being inattentive or maybe just misread it outright, then I'd be like ok my bad, but 99% of the time it was either some BS she made up and put in Pottermore or, more often, she was just making it up off the top of her head.

Another thing or characters is Barty Crouch and Baggins? I don’t remember his name since it’s been years, but he was the head of sports or something during the goblet of fire. The movies basically combined their characters

I have two other problems with the books versus the movies. 1. the Death Eater raid on The Burrow. Doesn't happen in the literary version and is completely unnecessary. Instead, the time should have been used to deal with the Horcruxes. This also applies to (2.) Harry's mirror. It appears out of nowhere in the last movie and is not explained at all.

The final battle and the events leading up to it were rubbish in thenmovie. The book was so much more dramatic and thrilling. I recently listened to the audio book of the Deathly Hallows, and the last chapters did a much better job of building up the tension and drama until the final battle. The second DH movie was crap.

I think there's a pretty simple explanation for why Harry became a Horcrux. I can't find the exact quotes right now, but Dumbledore explained to Harry that no wizard had managed to split his soul as many times as Voldemort had, and also that the soul becomes unstable after one split, let alone six! Voldemort's soul was simply so unstable after 6 splits that it didn't take any special procedure for his soul to split again and attach itself to Harry. Let us also not forget that Voldemort was not "killed" in any normal way, but was "killed", in Dumbledore's words, by "ancient magic" in the form of Harry's mother Lily's sacrifice. As Dumbledore explains to Harry at the end, he and Voldemort have gotten into unexplored parts of magic, and this, for me, is another unexplored part that breaks the usual rules.

So to answer your question about professor Quirrell not being able to touch harry. It is because of the protection spell left by Lily after her death. Bc Quirrell is connected to Voldemort he can not touch harry without pain/death

I just hope they don't abandon plotlines and characters. Like I wanna see Oliver Wood cry his absolute eyes out at the Quidditch final in the 3rd book. I wanna see Stan Shunpike failing to rizz up the Veela at the World Cup etc, it is precisely those moments of side characters which makes the world feel so alive. It's not just NPCs waiting to be a plot device.

Harry looked at Snape and Dumbledore and saw them as opposites at first, one purely good one purely bad. Then in the last book it turns out the purely good person did some bad things, and the purely bad person did some good things.

I agree: the film's change to Voldemort's end was really anticlimatic and stupid. In the book, Voldemort just dropped dead, and that's how it should be.
@jovetjКүн бұрын
15:00 No, Harry's eyes were supposed to be green only because of his mother. And those green eyes were supposed to torture Snape every time Snape saw Harry's face. Because someone else ended up with Lily.

Remember that all the films pronounce Voldemort incorrectly.

The end of the first film really bothered me. In the books, they worked together and just kind of got picked-off by happenstance until Harry was alone. In the film, it was "OH IT'S ALL ABOUT YOU, HARRY! I JUST KNOW IT" which made me want to vomit. The second film was pretty perfect. The third film was awful... Cuarón needlessly imagined the entire look and layout of Hogwarts, he had Hogwarts students running around in denim blue jeans (WTF robes?), and set a terrible precedent for all the films to follow. Ugh. And Gambon as Dumbledore is simply terrible. TERRIBLE!

Sirius Black's death seems to create a plot inconsistency, especially considering the reference to Time Turners in the 'Mystery of Magic' section of the Ministry of Magic. Although it's mentioned that they were destroyed by a stray curse, in the magical world of Harry Potter, where spells can restore even enchanted objects to their original state, one can't help but wonder if they could have been employed to save him. This contemplation resonates with me particularly because I just finished that chapter, which was deeply emotional-I even shed a few tears. Yet, this still leaves me wrestling with notable discrepancies in the plot.

One thing that always bothered me is that the characters in Harry Potter seem to be completely oblivious to the existence of Family Guy. It was the right era and stupid kids would be watching a stupid show like that, though they would've been too young to watch it. I feel that the lack of even one mention of Stewie, Brian, or Peter was a real missed opportunity. I feel like if some of the characters started doing terrible Peter Griffin impressions it would elevate the story to a masterful level. That's what was truly missing from the series. And it makes sense that they'd mention the Griffin family at least once since one of the most important Houses in Hogwarts is called *Gryffin*dor.

8:35 I do remember an instance in (Half Blood Prince?) Of someone's Expelliarmus spell colliding mid-air with a killing curse; which kinda imo goes against the whole "It's completely unblockable" thing established in Goblet of Fire (excluding golden objects and gold flame), but whatever, I may just be dumb and misremembering things somehow. And obviously the "spells connecting in midair" thing does occur twice in the books with the final one being in The Deathly Hallows when Voldy's curse is rebounded on himself for the second and final time, which kills him. But obviously that is an exclusive to Harry and Voldemort for all the reasons that Harry gives Tom in the finale. I'm kinda sad that they completely removed all the explanations for that in the films.

“…it seems to me like there are a lot of areas where the movies just felt less magical to me. The first movie does a good job at capturing a lot of character of the castle, the moving staircases, trapdoors, the forbidden forest. I feel like, as the movies went on, it became les of a magical world, and more of a normal school that Harry went to that happened to have wands and magic in it.” ^ YES, 100%! This is one of the reasons why I generally prefer the first 2 movies. To me, they’re much more eerie and unique than the rest (even if the rest supposedly get ‘darker’ each time). We go from the creepiness of things like the flickering torches, that screaming book😂, and Harry hearing the basilisk’s thoughts through the walls etc. etc. - to Voldemort prancing around making funny noises, forced ‘comedy’ and increasingly butchered characters.

You are actually wrong about spells connecting. It happens twice in the books sort of. There’s the brother wands in book four and it is mentioned during Harry and Voldemort’s final duel. Also most of the instances in films are, like the one in the final duel, not priori incantatum at all. They are merely two spells cast at the same time aimed at the same opposite points and briefly canceling each other out. You are also wrong about Quirrell. Voldemort possessed him on his sabbatical in Albania. Quirrell had by that point had returned from Albania and the break in was with in that week. And Harry’s Emerald Green eyes are a reference to his MOTHER’S eyes.
