As far as Kirby's Adventure/Nightmare in Dreamland goes, it's my head canon that Meta Knight knew about Nightmare, and that's the only reason he helped Dedede. That, and because he knew it was useless to try and convince Dedede to swallow his pride and actually tell people the real reason he stole the Star Rod.

I'm surprised that you didn't touch on that Rock Star ISN'T a desert world. Look at the second level, it's not a desert at all. The world's Japanese name is Ruined/Perished Star, and THAT's the world's actual theme. The first level is a temple sunken into the sand, the second is ruins, the third is full of fossils. All signs of life that's long gone. While the fourth could be the spacecraft of aliens that discovered the planet after the end, or perhaps one that crashed there long along and was lying dormant, judging by how it rises from the sand. Look at Rock Star itself, it's completely shattered. It's cool because this actually makes Neo Star the opposite. It's a planet in its infancy. The first level is a lush jungle where you first see the pterosaur-like Pteran enemies, some of the plantlife even has a prehistoric look to it. The second and third levels are rocky canyons and caves, and the 4th is full of volcanic activity. I doubt Neo Star was destroyed at the end there. It was probably just a regular eruption because the world is still young, although if you want to be more dramatic, you could say it was an extinction event like the Great Dying or something.

Should’ve mentioned Dedede’s boss description in Star Allies, where they talk about how him stealing food is wildly out of character for him. He’s grown to the point of him doing that to be unthinkable

Bruh, how does the most versatile ability, having high damage and good attack range, as well as true invincibility while guarding, end up in B tier? Sand is the best ability in RtDRDeluxe, and it deserves at least A tier. I also love Ninja in that game, but it notoriously lacks any attacks that hit vertically above Kirby, so some flying bosses are really hard to beat without taking some damage yourself. It absolutely tears through all the other bosses however. I guess B tier makes sense with it lacking vertical attacks, but despite that I personally think the high DPS alone makes it A tier.

I remember seeing this game's ads on tv and in magazines. It was my first time seeing Kirby, and I didn't realize this was not his first game, so I thought all the body horror and creepiness of... Kirby himself, was intentional. Basically being something that looks cute but is really a menace. The fact that it looked to me like at any moment he could suddenly form several twitching spikes, a bunch of large needles and stingers, the massive jaws from his arms, or open his mouth the stab you with an impossibly large flaming sword didn't help things. All that from a tv spot where he blows up a cat with a missle to the print ad that just describes him with an evil grin in addition to several other informed attributes that can't be seen and zero further context.

Idk ice kirby was amazing for bosses no damange requirements in forgotten lands it basically trivialized it. And even without the damage requirement it would shred bosses health if you did the ice needle spam by tapping B which also still freezes them.

I think that in Squeak Squad Metaknight knew what was really in that chest and was trying to prevent Dark Nebula from being released. Btw great video, it holds up.

It's actually not a horror game

Just wanna say that the final boss is indeed very heavily implied to be a form of or servant of God in later games. And yes Kirby does end up killing the confirmed God (in Japanese at least) in cold blood, in fact he might've also killed a parallel version of God fused with the grim reaper the lore is kinda vague there

Pretty solid. I would replace the sun & moon for some sort of lier or trickster since that's what he did & what he still is. That would leave space to some sort of revived zombie with wacky powers, representing Marx Soul.

I have never played kirby 64 but the imagery and this video alone makes me hope for more horror-esque kirby games. Even if hal doesnt do it, i hope that the community will. Theres already a kirby analogue horror series but it uses kirby as story telling device and not the kirby world itself.

Lore question: Why are Kirby and Keeby so chill, but Meta Knight and Galacta Knight so intense? We know Darkmatters have a swordfighting form too, so does that mean Voids turn into Kirbies or Darkmatters based on positive or negative energy, and for whatever reason, can become a brooding knights. If so, why?

I finished this game very recently, and I love the vibes. I don't love some of the Shard requirements, but aesthetically its excellent.

I think the samurai hat fits stone Kirby perfectly and if you know your japanese lore than you'd see why he turns into a statue but ninja's hat is lame and the newer one is ugly
