WHO IS CHEF KAWASAKI? A Kirby Series Character Analysis

After discussing the main four Kirby characters two years ago, the fires of creative passion have finally been lit inside me anew. Meta Knight, King Dedede, Bandana Waddle Dee, even Kirby himself. None compare to the sheer, utter excellence from the Kirby series most understated character: Chef Kawasaki. From Super Star to Star Allies to the Kirby: Right Back At Ya! anime, and even Japan's Kirby Cafe, this man has an incredible legacy that needs to be documented. Luckily, I'm the guy for the job. So, who is Chef Kawasaki?

The one flaw and sin Super Star Ultra didn’t remedy that Star Allies did, Chef Kawasaki needed to be a helper, and HAL finally delivered. Best in the anime, best in the game, and best in real life if you went to the cafe (I wish I could, but I’m in America … maybe if America’s Super Nintendo World gets ideas, there’s hope.). There should be a Kirby cooking game or a cookbook with the good chef front and center. Also do a Wheelie analysis because of his role in The Revenge of Meta Knight, Air Ride, and Samurai Kirby. You also need to update the Bandanna Waddle Dee video because he’s in Samurai Kirby in Return to Dreamland Deluxe. Then do Magolor and Waddle Doo.

For me, I'll always remember Chef Kawasaki as the only non-Cappy resident of Cappy Town in Kirby: Right Back at Ya!, AKA the Kirby anime "Hoshi no Kābī" (Kirby of the Stars). He looked a lot like a Cappy, though, only he was orange and actually had feet. He also had shines in his eyes, unlike the Cappies whose eyes are just.. hollow holes... He's just such a goofy-looking character, and of a nondescript species no less. What a mystery this guy is...

As the video went, I was weirded out you never mentioned Kawasaki was Kirby's dad. I assumed that was your final point. And then nothing. Then I looked up and asked myself. i know that im very late, but about kawasaki giving a random ability to kirby if he uses copy: im pretty sure this is intentional, as if a dying helper touches a midboss that has an ability which doesn't have a helper, then the dying helper gets a random ability instead i feel like they just reused the code for that mechanic when they were making copy, for balance purposes

9:52 No mention of the Star Warrior-esque physique of his mentor? 9:57 That wasn't his mentor btw that was a monster disguised as his mentor, important distinction since his mentor is likely a Star Warrior meaning that Kawasaki wields the Frying Pan equivalent to something like the Star Rod or Galaxia in the anime (and any games that happen to use that exact frying pan design, although my memory's bad so I'm not sure if that's a thing) 10:41 ...this canon? *THIS CANON?* Are YOU, someone who is trying to teach ME the inner workings of Kirby characters, claiming that Kirby Right Back at Ya... *IS A DIFFERENT CANON?* How dare you. How absolutely DARE you. You spit in my face, and it is not welcome. The reason Kine does not have a wife is because he, like Tiff, is a child. You kind of glanced over the fact that he was supposedly married and yet was interested in a kid... Not that there aren't characters like that in the show but they're called out for it. This timeskip is very important to many characters and how they matured over time and must not be overlooked. Kawasaki became a good chef, Dedede matured in general, Kirby's powers changed (Mostly growing in power of course, but their inhale power is usually less powerful due to the trauma of his friends who would usually tell him when to inhale things, Tiff and Tuff, being presumed dead in the times of the games, possibly being vulnerable to the fungal parasite that wiped out Cappy civillization) OK you redeemed yourself with the big shoutout to Maddie Blaustein in terms of the whole face spitting thing, I think that shouting her out is way more important than the chronology of Kirby's Dreamland characters, but I'm still dubious about your lore takes ;P Great, thx!
