More about useless people and less about useful acts... this world is descending into narcissism fast

Looks so 70s but in fact it's much older. The attention to detail and care is clear.

OMG I left a comment on a different post please forgive me. I needed to add the hare dinner had me drooling . So gorgeous. I’m sure as I watch from around the world I will feel the same. I’ve only in my 82 years had a small appetite but OMG how I would love a tasting of anyone of your dishes. Sadly Peter was a pet rabbit in the family. How we loved him until a stray dog killed him. I tried many years later to cook a tasty dinner. Not one of us could eat it.

This food is ridiculously outdated and I would say almost twee. Definitely not fine dining anymore - I see why he closed the restaurant!

If metal affects caviar taste why do processing facilities use metal all throughout the harvesting process? From the knife to the bowls and spoons.

I live about an hour away from The French Laundry. Someday, for a very special occasion, I'll have a meal there. Unless, I get rich, then I'll eat there once a month.

It's great that Emily is a part of the scholarship, and it's totally understandable that the main focus of this scholarship is not the cousins. However, unfortunately, this channel, along with the scholarship, will suffer, unless its two biggest stars come back and put on masterclasses. There's no denying that the masterclasses draw in enormous viewership, in comparison to the last two scholarships. One masterclass equals hundreds of thousands of views. No masterclass? Less than five thousand views. We're all on your side. Sometimes, it's about not fixing what isn't broken.

Non ci sono più le masterclass di Alain e Michel? Queste masterclass che davano attualita alla grande cucina di Escoffier o Gouffe etc erano bellissime e io ho imparato molto.

It is so incredibly important to offer young talent a chance, a stage and a platform. What the entire Roux family is doing here is incredible. You can only bow your head in respect. In addition to the very hard work of the restaurateur, to always have the development of others in mind and to promote it is worthy of all honour. Thank you for not being one of those who constantly moan because there are no young people in the catering trade, but for being one of the few who actively do something to give this great profession the glamour it deserves! Chapeau

Yes, but they have to stick to a formula that works. Alain and Michel Jr.'s masterclasses score huge entertainment points and production value for this channel. It meant that each competitor had to prove how well they know the classics. The last Alain and Michel Jr. masterclass, in 2022, has over 114k views. They didn't upload anything for the 2023 edition, besides the live stream, and that has less than 4k views. Let's hope they return the format to its original brilliance!

Both born in England but Alain has a French accent and Michel an English? Is 8 years training in France enough to impart such a strong accent?

I just love the warmth and passion Michel Jr possesses. I'm an intermediate homecook and haven't really cared at all about the more elaborate kinds of dishes, but Michel Jr has this ability to make me interested with his enthusiasm.

That finished plate is a perfection of skills. Mastering these skills inspires other modern dishes which may become future classics. (I’m thinking of something crafted with turkey, cranberry and savory stuffing/nuts for Thanksgiving)
