July 30th, 1936 was the Birth year & stats of Buddy Guy's time unleashed on this innocent Earth. Starting in '81- I believe - I started seeing him in many Cities/States of the USA-lastly were two in three days in Nor-Cal at his just turning 88. It'd been a while & since I was Blessed to see him just before COVID'S Lockdown o' Fun for the whole Family w/ thanks to the chinese who'd rather fkg lie & be secretive about that germ warfare they shyly let loose on the Planet - that was the US' fault because you don't contract a Society so poor their professional people are taking infected Lab Animals like Mice/Rats- good for skewering normally w/a little BBQ Sauce & greens - well, that's another story- but if they're that damned poor & screwed up Socially, you don't want to do business w/them except for doing away w/dead, diseased Dogs 'n such being taken away from here. It's not a good thing that comes from that in the original Country! It didn't help Buddy Guy or anyone else by having to sit around & wait (& wait). Time didn't wait as the older Gents had to stop Touring the World or at all. I'd like to properly thank them for selling infected Lab rats & such & then being SHY about that as act of Love to the 🌎🌏🌍🔬. My last Live Show a week or two before THE VID/'HEY-19' came to towns across the Pacific Ocean was going 217 miles & buying a ticket for a Buddy Guy Show; I hadn't seen, spoken to Buddy in a long time & was doing 90-95/mph to not miss anything I didn't have to & that it was my last Show for a while re COVID - things could've been worse (not by much but I guess so). He was still able to make people who studied his playing literally jolt up out of our seats through the Show-he was modest when SRV, Clapton, BECK, etc- tried to stand tall before the Man. His old Mgr told me a story about Santana & Buddy when Carlos was supposed to get up & jam w/Buddy for a little while. He was wearing his Ibanez Guitar & got Hit by a few, quick, flurried Notes probably from Buddy's GUILD (reddish brown, double cutaway body) & personally I think it's a better sound than the Fenders but they're taking care of him w/endorsements- finally so I don't know. It's not my Budget, He's worked hard to get the stature He's at & still be Alive- not meeting people he doesn't want to meet at 89(±) & finally recognized by the industry as the best: so many said it, not to be polite but in Truth. I think he was a little unhappy to be in second place sort of w/Zepellin, David Letterman all getting Kennedy Center Awards a few years ago now and Jimmy Page was among those who used to praise his playing ability not style - ability to make some of us spaz up out of our chairs & react like we'd been attacked by a swarm of bees as the little hairs on the body kind of sizzle reacting to the lightning bolts he was slinging around the venue. Sadly, he's slowed down in the tempo he's playing & also had some sing-along numbers doing time in his Shows, but damnit - hes coming up to 90 hard Years almost all w/a Guitar for a working tool & not regretting it at all.

Hello, as you put "Attempting" to play... I can tell you what the problem is right now- someone put a few stickers on your Guitar! This can cause many people a lot of confusion. It's distracting to the Player. There, see? Everything is cleared up now & you're a better Man for it too! No gratuity sought or needed but I thank you for the offer.

Buddy Guy is the favorite Guitar Player from interviews w/ Top performers like: Jorma Kaukonen, BECK, Clapton, Page, Hendrix & SRV & his Bands w/ : 'The Jr Wells-Buddy Guy Blues Band' &/or Blues Review' were blazing away in DC, Denver (2 night stays- Denver iS an 'Interstate Crossroads'(E-W I-70+N-S I-25). As they'd figure out N,S,E or W- two nights in Denver & selling a few dozen Peppermint Lounge &/or Checkerboard Lounge T-shirts (for Gas money or fkg Royal Gate; Jr had class). Those Backing Bands knew- KNEW!- WHAT WAS NEXT. I never saw a set list. 'That's amazing!' No, Buddy - Jr worked on the shows w/whoever was the Band leader until they had it right. Every time I saw Buddy Guy (w/without Jr) I was jolted up outta my seat - a low population bar or an Auditorium & DC>DENVER ×2,"×2,"×2, Ft Lauderdale (NYE when Fender woke up & finally Respected Buddy-'91-2(±), & Redding, CA my last PRE-VID Show: He always had the ability to make serious audience members jolt/jerk up outta Our (12±) chairs/seats, anywhere in the USA- NO Setlists but tight! I miss his GUILD - Model -? Buddy always did his best & No SETLISTS. He could shift gears & shut 'em down as he said "WAIT A MINUTE!" SILENCE from the Stage. They were ripped off in the 'Festival Express' Tour of Canada just as at Live AID. Where are the Black Artists? Only Teddy P (The Voice of Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes!) w/ Ashford & Simpson & Tina Turner, & Patti Labelle-who lived in Philly- & a few others at Live AID! Buddy would've been a backbreaker at Kennedy Stadium! Only after THE VID has Buddy slowed down & for the first 2 times since THE VID: 8-4+6-2023 (at 87 since 7-30-23 a week before or less - were the first times since 3-5-20 in Redding, CA was I not jerked up out of my seat & didn't see any others Hit that way either. The Real Deal was a Sharecropper's Son, had limited vocabulary & ability to construct Songs- not just 🎼music 🎶- Songs that made me, others in the same venue spaz like there was an Epilepsy Convention in the area & this was the entertainment scheduled for them! No one was better than Buddy Guy w/that double cut GUILD as in the '80s! Nobody. He knew he was able to rip apart but then he had class & showmanship & the illusion of competition in the works. That's SAD- He told Clapton he had to beg off Crossroads for, I think, the 1st time ever this time. Once he got his Kennedy Center Award- no more hanging w/the crowds. Look up Chicago Hustle '82 (w/that GUILD I believe). It's the time frame. He didn't have to show up anybody else by then. He's been credited by Jimi, SRV, E.C. & BECK & THEY KNEW THAT HE WAS JUST BEING POLITE & 'DIPLOMATIC SO AS NOT TO UPSTAGE THEM- AS A GUEST AT THEIR SHOWS. He's going to be 88 on July 30th. Maybe. If you never saw & heard him in the '80s- you'll never know. Footage of Buddy, Buddy Miles & Jack Bruce in London & Muddy telling him about getting screwed by Mgmnt people was Fatherly advice on the Biz. Look, listen & watch the 'Lick This' Instructional DVD Series by Buddy for a glimpse OR you'll never know what you missed & what He could do! January's were either filmed &/or 'just' recorded & I bought everything I saw by him from Buddy's Legends- you can't get better from a Sharecropper's Son in Louisiana. Buddy in the 80s & 90s was a knock out; ask Clapton. Watch the next one after this- OR- "BUDDY GUY BERN 2000" AS HE'S INTO THE CROWD WAILING & WALKING AROUND THE AUDIENCE doing'I Just Want To Make Love To You'. I DON'T LIE. ENJOY THE TIMES WHEN HE HAD LONG, RELAXED HAIR (AGE SPAN- NOT FOR THE FASHION STATEMENT). A LOT OF 'MID-LIFE' CRISES (PLURAL FOR 1 CRISIS) LOL

You're selfish about the truth. I was at L.AID & TAPED THE ENTIRE THING. DOES THAT OFFEND YOU FOR SOME REASON? SAD. YOUR EDITS ARE JUST DISSUADING PEOPLE FROM GETTING A BETTER IDEA THEY SHOULD LOOK AT MORE THAN JUST WHAT YOU THINK IS ENOUGH.

Muddy is talking about learning the tune "Walking Blues" that both he and RJ learned from Son House. RJ recorded it on record and it was released in 1936. Son House had been playing that song and teaching it to others as early as 1930.

There seems to be some speculation as to where Robert Johnson is buried...I've been to the 'pecan tree' burial at Little Zion although a couple other cemeteries in or around Greenwood claim to having his final resting place too...

Wow! The very last line is pretty significant for guitar players into the delta blues. He called the name of E tuning “Crossnote”. That’s a favorite of Skip James like in the song “Hard time killing floor blues” It flattens the 3rd to a minor chord.

Hi I have just reserected the Lead Guitar by Harvey Vinson baught probably when it first became available 1972. However I do not have the disk to go with it. I appreciate you have gone to the trouble to create an instruction video, could you say in the videos what page you are working from. I am amazed to find you working from this book!
