It's important to point out in each & every video that there are ONLY two (2) dance styles done on ANY social Dance Club/Lounge anywhere in the World. Spot/Rhythm & Progressive/Traveling. The congestion Problem (s) we all run into these days is that Dance Instructors do not continually reinforce (Over & Over/ Ad Nauseum ),...... All Spot/Rhythm Dance Styles should be done in the CENTER of the Dance Floor,......Progressive/Traveling Dance Styles are done in the two (2) outside lanes of the Dance Floor. Slower Progressive/Traveling Dancers on the inside Lane & the faster moving dances in the Outside FAST Lane. This way, we can ALL perform our dance of choice at the very same time to each particular Music Selection. Thank You!

True, I will add that line dancing should be done in the parking lot.

Why is it they never explain the beat count? You have downbeats and upbeats! You counted 1 2 3 5... You need to make it a point of what beats those are! Without the explanation people are offbeat or out of Step! Two step is a lead and follow dance... no explanation of framework... another lame dance instructor!

Such a great explanation. Brandi, how do you practice this? Its really hard to see if you’re knee is bending forward and if both legs are straight from a frontal view in the mirror? Would you practice it looking in mirror from the side?

Is that la style turning the lady on 5?? We dance on 2 and we turn on 3. Maybe that why. I don’t feel confused turning on 5 it limits me doing my “thing’l

I hate that inside prep off the basic like that, very awkward to lead and follow. The outside turn flows off the basic much more nicely

This looks more like the videos of the Texas two step. It’s nothing like the plain two step I’ve been doing for decades....as well as my dancing partners.

For those who watch this video make use of the list of moves on DEMO WITHOUT MUSIC.. This will make it easy to follow the rest of the video. It will help keep you focused on where the line of dance is.

What I love about this is how incredibly clear it all is, and how he shows how and why everything is led. You can tell they're doing their best technique throughout the video, and there is a reason for that. It's so easy to get sloppy, but good technique makes the dance look easy and read beautifully.

Ronnie is my wife's dance hero. 11 years later she STILL talks about her amazing Pro Am Jack and Jill Pro Am. I still remember meeting Brandy before she became a dance goddess. Brandy will always be one of my favorite dancers. She is technically amazing, kind and a joy to dance with. (Yup, I ended my sentence with a preposition)

aah, maybe it came from political correctness, but the word "leader" or "lead" is quite appropriate for dance.

Great lesson, but as an observation - interesting to see that even dance is not immune from political correctness (Leader and Follower; used to be gentleman and lady).

bs comment. Doesnt come from political correctness, but from being just useless descriptions when two people of same sex dance together. And this has nothing to do with sexual orientation. With high skilled dancers even lead and follow become sort of a "wrong" descriptions as depending on the phrase and situation this changes pretty much back and forth so that even while the (tradionally male) leader might suggest a move (the tradinionally female) follower might not only style it but go so far as to develope it much further than the lead could have imagined - and (traditionally) he better follow that idea if he is competent enough to listen and engage in a dialog. Jennifer DeLuca, Tatiana Mollmann and Victoria Henk are great examples for this, tho there are many more - since those are the most skilled wcs dancers I have ever seen...

I recognize this move as one he does use often, at least in many of the vids I've seen. It's such an easy adjustment to the inside roll freespin. I can't wait to use this! I don't see the "Moves and Grooves" vid to be avail anymore. I think the one move is called the arm throw, and I'd like to be able to get the vid to learn that move. I've done it and find it impossible to do with a follow that's never done it. I must be missing something.

This dance doesn't make sense to me... It's 6 beats in a genre that seems to be predominantly 4/4 time?! I thought the two step was left left right (quick quick slow, instead of quick quick slow slow) for 4 beats instead of 6 which seems to make more sense. But all the videos I see are for this version of the 2-step.
