Rather have no car payment than a new car. Some of those truck prices are approaching what I paid for my current home.

I work for Toyota in an engine and transmission plant. When we get near the end of a model run, we see the same thing on blocks/heads and transmission cases and housings. It's literally just like people are saying on here. It's just a cosmetic issue. We run our parts through the same rigorous tests on day one until the end of production. Don't worry about the surface appearance, it won't affect anything. Enjoy one of the best vehicles Toyota ever built!

Corporate Stellantis has to get involved with the dealerships ripping off the public, or they can kiss their car company goodbye. At the end of the day it's there reputation and there business, the dealers are just the middle men.

American cars are way over priced. They only sell a few every year. The worst engine and the worst price in terms of expensive. No value whatsoever.

its just not the High car prices, its the Banks. they just didnt raise APRs like 1 or 2% the did by then 10 tens , Used cars are getting 20% APR. Its all the Banks , they lend money to the manufractures to build the car, then they lend money to the Dealers to get the cars then lend money to ppl buying the Cars. So you got banks making money off 3 steps. Even if Dealers lower their prices Pre covid it wont change anything till the Banks are regined in and have Caps for their APRs like they use to.

These stealership are slick. They sell a black widow package for 20k on a Jeep but what do they do with the original bumpers and rim/tires that came from the manufacturer. I bet they sell them back in the parts department. They’re making money on both fronts. Most people don’t even think to ask for the parts that you’re already paying for.

I've seen these 100k trucks selling in places like Brazil and Thailand for 15k. Same trucks, same equipment. Could you tell me how that happens? Like 30k for health insurance here, when you can get full coverage in those places for less than 600/year. It's called corporate welfare and redistribution of wealth, from the middle class to the upper. Get a grip. You get what you vote for.

Thats why you buy a year or two old vehicles, avoid majority of the dealer markups and most importantly the big depreciation

On the topic of demo vehicles, maaaaaaany moons ago I was a lot attendant at a Ford dealership right outside of Portland, OR - The sales manager let me demo vehicles for weeks often before they turned into service loaners or traded with other dealerships. My favorite of all the vehicles I got to demo was the SHO Taurus, felt like a 80 year old grandpa in that big ol' zippy boat.

The manufacturers did a dot move analysis on their product lines and decided to eliminate everything with a lower price because making $500 on a vehicle wasn’t worth it to them.

30,000 of a truck that is over priced by 60,000 is still not a bargain!
@gabeeaglesland13786 сағат бұрын
The problem with this is the cost of cars, Period. Who wants to finance a vehicle for 40-80K, for 7 years. This guy says prices are dropping low , that’s not true . The dealers need to severely drop retail prices by 10-40K. The union workers get too much money, sorry but I know. Yeah the interest rates are high too. Even used cars are expensive. I was thinking of trading in our 2015 Subaru but changing my mind an we are keeping it.
